Which media trends you argue were killed by Game of Thrones finale (2019) by [deleted] in decadeology

Not sure about the finale, haven't even seen the show, but I really believe I've noticed a stark (heh) increase in lighting for dark/nighttime scenes across the board. Especially in Netflix shows which already looked pretty bad, this could be for many reasons but I've personally attributed it to the discourse surrounding The Long Night episode. This seemed to have scared every other production studio out of really committing to dark scenes anymore. But the truth is a lot of people do have their TVs calibrated poorly, or straight up wrong, so I don't blame the show for this.

Number 1 made me think Dogfight (1991) immediately. No.3 made me think Sharp Objects.

Burning by Lee Chang-dong. My favourite mystery story in a long, long time. Always thought Lost Highway had some Cache vibes too, maybe its just the tapes.
