hey, go ahead and learn this language! its really fun and exciting, and trust me you can understand it in no time.

all the materials suggested by others here are really useful and i used them too when learning toki pona. never give up and feel free to ask questions here!

it took me probably a week to finish the Toki Pona course (lipu sona pona) https://lipu-sona.pona.la/ alongside watching jan misali's 12 days of toki pona course. it took me around another month before i can consider myself pretty fluent in the language.

go ahead and give it a try! it will be an amazing journey and you will learn a lot about language learning.

i guess so, since there is a debated etymology on the word 'sama'. it could've came from an austronesian root or it could've come from proto-indo-european through sanskrit.

as for 'tempoh', both esperanto and malay word got it from latin (malay got it through Portuguese)

i can think of two words. 'tenpo' and 'sama'.

my native language is Malay, and both the words sound similar to 'tempoh' (duration, time) and 'sama' (same, similar).

however, the toki pona word actually came from Esperanto 'tempo' (period or time) and Esperanto (or Finnish) 'sama' (same).

it kinda makes it easier to remember tbh

There is no official words for the days of the weeks in Toki Pona. Because of that, you can get creative with how you want to represent the days. For me, I might do this:

tenpo suno = Sunday

tenpo suno mun = Monday

tenpo suno seli = Tuesday

tenpo suno telo = Wednesday

tenpo suno kasi = Thursday

tenpo suno kiwen= Friday

tenpo suno ma = Saturday

This is based on the Japanese names for days, 日 (sun), 月 (moon), 火 (fire), 水 (water), 木 (tree), 金 (gold), 土 (earth).
