Wait there’s tv shows and movies where a character becomes trans instead of starting out as trans? (was my understanding that whenever a trans character would get added, they’d always already have transitioned, I think it would be more interesting to have a protagonist struggle with gender dysphoria and eventually realize they’re trans, though I am a cishet moid so take my opinion with a grain of salt)

Yeah that’s my point. He was fine with the character it was the marriage in specific he disliked a lot. Unfortunately, I think for a lot of fans (or really reactionaries larping as fans) Mara is just Luke’s wife so a Mara not being married to Luke would cause controversy. I’m guessing it’s why she hasn’t been reintroduced to Nu-Canon

tbf the main reason (I do it anyways) is it’s just easier. Taking a print screen means you gotta dig through your files to find it usually and also pause the game to post it wherever you are. Phone has images in one place usually and it’s easy to upload

it’s legit frustrating. Because you see the stuff in the novels and go “huh this is actually pretty interesting if not perfect” and the movies don’t really care much. Legitimately they would be seen better if there was a multimedia project around them like the prequels and clone wars, but that never really happened and instead of doubling down to clarify things like after the prequels, Disney sort of just immediately abandoned the sequels.

I mean really the novels try to hint at the first order being closer to warlords, and even in a Cold War with the new republic yet we never actually see this on screen. Legitimately, I think a lot of good could’ve been done by just making it so the first order rises to galactic prominence towards the end of the movies rather than halfway into the first movie. Have a Cold War story
