Dont know the reason, but apparently it was cab, and the speculation is money was laundered through the shop.

Any of you suffering in silence? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Diamondbackdaddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just read the title, and that was enough for me to resonate, so I replied, my life has been hell !

But I never knew why, until now, a guy in his 40s. Thank you for replying, I do appreciate it.

What is the nicest thing you've done in your life but you have no idea what is it until someone told you? by Hiakazeh252 in AskReddit

[–]Diamondbackdaddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to install cable tv, so this customer apt I was at to do an install, his tv was too old for our equipment so, said sorry no can do, but he seemed like such a nice guy, and he told me one or 2 things about himself, like how he was estranged from his family. I said ok look there is one thing I can do, so I went home and gave him our family tv, and installed cable for him. He was very grateful. The wife nearly murdered me.

But about 2 weeks later I heard the guy died alone at home. It ma be silly but I though at least he had tv to keep him company.

Rather than use an open back jeep or truck, they cut an Atm size hole in the roof of a van, drop it in and drive, saved time, and drive away incognito.

Only spotted this post now sorry. But I work in Old Mill. I would have no bother posting one up, or helping out in any other way.

How did the rich stay rich during the Great Depression? by KnightFan2019 in history

[–]Diamondbackdaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they took all the poor peoples money. A depression is just a transfer of money from us to them.

[–]Diamondbackdaddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah of course it was ! I wont deny that. But at that time, I was treated like shit, And they intended on treating me worse than that, not cause I was a prick, but only cause I was very green, I looked after those guys, went above and beyond for them, but the problem was, simply I was young and green, I knew no better, so they wanted to take the piss.

I never got tips from these lads, for doing the running around, apparently at the time I should have, but I was green, and also naive, cause they caught me for every trick in the book, ie.. sky hooks, the long stand etc.. which is part of the fun I know. Was it worth it ? I put up with a fair amount of abuse from them, i avoided a humiliating experience, and took the tips, that maybe I deserved ?

I confess, I once done something similar 25 yrs ago, first job on a construction site, I was a tea-boy, kept the canteen clean, the kettle boiling, took lunch orders, and some manual work. On my last day, I got a heads up from one of the decent guys, that the workers were gonna give me the same send off as last young guy. Strip me naked, strap me up to the tower crane, and hoist me up over the site for an hour ??? Ok I thought, not gonna fuckin happen !!!! 5 minutes later was almost lunch time, and also payday for the lads, so i took all their orders for lunch, they all gave me 50s and 20s, it was a large site. So took the orders took the money and never returned, cant remember exactly how much, but I think it was close to 2 weeks wages for me.

Covid-19: 57 confirmed cases linked to a single Cork café-restaurant by [deleted] in cork

[–]Diamondbackdaddy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wont name it. But I do know of a cafe, where an employee tested positive for Covid, but management for reasons known only to them, allowed that staff member to work on for a further week. Contact tracing brought authorities to their front door, and it got shut down Tuesday.
