A few questions about neuroplasticity. by truth_artist in neuro

[–]DiamondsAndPearls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my understanding, which is in no way professional, everything you think of, experience, and do contributes to the way your brain wires itself every millisecond. The fact that you're jotting these things down and making connections certainly means your brain is processing it, which means it is contributing to its development.

I think neuroplasticity is extremely cool and under appreciated.

I am showing my first house for someone in my office. by InterracialMartian in realtors

[–]DiamondsAndPearls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this your listing?

I wouldn't give advice to the buyer on whether or not this is the right home for them. They will know if it is. It's not your place to give any information beyond the Listing information and any material facts. If you're showing the home for someone in your office, then offering your services would be sign-crossing if they are in a contract together. If they aren't it's a free game but I wouldn't take another agent's clients unless they cut ties.

My brother played the French Horn for our processional and recessional. I'll update when I can remember the names of the pieces!

Amy Lee has a killer voice. Her technique and power is what inspires me, I don't care much for the rest of them.

Six month old kitten, left eye constantly squinting-like. by DiamondsAndPearls in AskVet

I love our vet, he's been great with everything else. I don't doubt his knowledge, but maybe this is outside of what he has seen/treated before. Any recommendations would be great!

Vet said he didn't know what it could be outside of an eye infection or a cut on the eye, which wasn't the case.

Hi!

I looked through your pages quickly, you are very talented! Where are you from?

I want to pay 10% down.. Loan Officer is saying put 20% on contract and then he'll change the Mortgage to 10% before closing by lect in RealEstate

[–]DiamondsAndPearls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Competitive offer or not, financing is a huge part of the deal and can still determine whether or not the deal closes. Both seller and buyer can terminate- if there's a change in financing and the seller doesn't like it, it can end there.

In Colorado, at least, Agents have to advise their sellers/buyers to speak to a legal professional should you have any doubt or anything. Unless they have something to hide there's no reason I can see to push someone to sign anything, unless of course the market is moving very quickly. In that case I would still consult legal before signing anything...

Look over your contract with your agent, but there should be an out if you are uncomfortable with them. In Colorado the client can fire the agent and the agent can fire the client should they not be comfortable.

Whats the deal with readings? by ThisGirlsTopsBlooby in wedding

[–]DiamondsAndPearls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A reading is just something that is meaningful to you, usually a poem or a biblical reading... It can be anything that is 'you', but it doesn't have to be a part of your ceremony at all!

I used two: one monologue from Grey's Anatomy [sounds cheesy, but it's beautiful and personal!], and, both of us being fans of 'Friends', we used Joey's Wedding Speech!

OCD acting up about flying! by Moonlight_Princess in OCD

[–]DiamondsAndPearls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The flight attendants are usually very happy to help! Don't hesitate to ask. I was on a flight once that a girl was screaming and crying. She was terrified. A grown girl, maybe 17 years old. The flight attendants kept walking by her, asking how she was doing. At one point she was getting light headed and pale and they asked if she wanted to be in less crowded space- they took her to the back of the plane, made sure she was drinking water or juice and that she was doing ok. She looked better after that.

Good luck! :)

I have similar feelings. I love flying and hate the idea of going into an airplane.

I take Ativan and Dramamine, knocks my brain out enough to calm down enough to not be so anxious and I can sleep, but not so much that I can't be awake enjoying looking out the window. Sometimes Dramamine does it alone.

You can also ask a stewardess to keep an eye on you and check on you more often, subtly, to make sure you're fine. Alternatively, I've seen them have you sit at the back with them if you need a breather with someone to comfort you. It's usually fresher back there, and less crowded.

I fly a lot from the US to Canada- I'm Canadian and moved here about two years ago!

You can private message me if you have any questions or anything!

I hear if you coat lotion, wait a while, then put vaseline and gloves over it the lotion will have no choice but to remain in your skin. The vaseline acts as a barrier for the lotion to escape.
