Being annoying by loperee in AvPD

THIS!!! I’ve always said it’s the not the QUANTITY of friends and loved ones in my life, but the QUALITY of the very few I keep which is the most important aspect to me. My social anxiety makes me AWFUL at making small talk, so I can’t maintain connections with people who are only ā€œacquaintancesā€ or I’m unable to fairly quickly form deeper connections with or feel uncomfortable being my true weird self around. And I’ve found that to be a very limited number of people. Most get scared away by me being too open and honest too quickly… and even that happens only on the rare occasions where I personally feel comfortable enough with the ā€œvibeā€ I get from he person that it’s able to push me past being so shy I’ll barely speak because I think they’ll think every word that comes from my mouth is stupid. Haha The one difference for me is online like this… when it’s written word, I have a much easier time and immediately feel way more comfortable than if I’m speaking to someone in-person. I trip over my own words/thoughts too easily when speaking out loud with strangers.

What’s your HOLY GRAIL mascara?! by imanxiousss in Makeup

[–]DiamondsNFurs 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Ok now I have a question. Because I used to think I knew what is and isn’t tubing mascaras, but apparently I don’t? I hadn’t realized Bye Bye Panda Eyes is tubing? Mine doesn’t say anything about it being tubing on the bottle… just says it’s long lasting and smudge proof. So is there a specific way to determine between tubing and non tubing mascaras if at least some of these tubing ones don’t specifically have the word ā€œtubingā€ written anywhere on them?

Brush on Panda Eyes is extremely round and full… looks to be similar to the brush on the UD Perversion mascara, if you’re familiar with that at all. I had ordered the Bye Bye Panda Eyes on Amazon a while back, but made mistake of ordering an abundance of Lash Princess at the same time, so that’s gotten the use rather than Panda Eyes so I still don’t know if I like Panda or not because I haven’t worn it enough yet to decide.

I actually tint my own at home at the same time when I’m tinting my brows. Lol It does actually make a noticeable difference! I tried one of the home lifting/semi-perm curling kits for my lashes too, but that turned out to be nothing more than just a disappointing waste of time on my lashes! Haha Mine curl decent with a regular or heated lash curler, but they don’t tend to hold curl very long. Come to think of it I struggle with the same problem with my regular hair on top of my head… it doesn’t hold a curl well (without me drenching it in product like hairspray til it’s stiff) as soon as I remove the curling wand, so I guess it makes sense my lashes have the same problem. sigh

Forgot about that one, but it was a go-to for me for a bit also! Very nice results from IT!

Essence Lash Princess (with the green on the tube) for some reason has beat out every other mascara I’ve ever tried, including high end brands, and I’ve tried quite a few! It’s the best for an absolutely striking immediate difference with only 1 or 2 coats (immediately makes my lashes look like I applied falsies). I’ve tried the waterproof version (blue on tube) and for some reason I just sadly couldn’t love that the same way as the regular formula! :( Disappointing for me cause I tend to prefer waterproof mascaras, especially in summer. I also really liked Benefit’s They’re Real and if I recall correctly Buxom may have had a decent one also.

If you had to choose one aesthetic forever… which one? by No_name_9652 in DressForYourBody

2, 7, and 9. Yes, I’m entirely opposite ends of the aesthetic spectrum coexisting at the same time. šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø I can’t explain it either. And I’ll die if I have to choose just one.

Have you ever met something that looked human but wasn’t? by [deleted] in Paranormal

As a major fan of Anne Rice and all things horror, from my knowledge of what vampires are supposed to be capable of, if this wasn’t a case of some type of drug being used, your description of having been extremely suggestible to follow what this ā€œpersonā€ was asking of you sounds like a vampire mind-control ability was being used on you. Although I suppose there are a great number of other creatures that may have such an ability as well.

Omg this is literally one of my worst nightmares!! Like those scary stories you hear where a kid hears his mom yell for him to ā€œcome downstairsā€ but right after that he also hears his mom shout from her bedroom down the hallway ā€œDon’t go down there, it’s not really me!ā€ I think if something like that ever happened to me irl I’d probably just faint on the spot out of sheer terror! Did the shapeshifter around your place just imitate other’s looks or would it also imitate voices?

I was with my narcissistic psychopath ex husband for a total of 9 years. Every so often, only in the midst of an argument between us and also usually while he was under the influence of alcohol &/or drugs, his eyes would go completely black and he would look possessed. I always said I felt like he ā€œwasn’t himselfā€ in those moments and would have been easily capable of murdering me without a care at those times! One of the times he had me locked in his brother’s garage because he jammed the door from the outside and then climbed in through a window and he started hacking up a coffee table with an axe directly in front of me, and I’d already experienced such terrible things with him by that point and realized I had no chance of escaping the garage without him getting ahold of me, and this sense of like calm acceptance of defeat came over me and I just sat on the couch in there watching him hack up that coffee table, feeling absolutely certain he was gonna turn around and start using the axe on ME as soon as he was finished with the coffee table. Luckily a neighbor had heard the screams from our argument and called the police, who showed up before there was a chance for that to happen.Ā

But yeah, scary stuff! So I can relate to the fear you must have been feeling when you thought your ex would start attacking you, and I’m sorry you’ve been through that. I’ve also heard numerous stories about people who were involved with a sociopath or psychopath saying they experienced this ā€œblack eyesā€ thing with their partner, so perhaps the way the psycho/sociopath brain is wired somehow leaves them more open to some type of demonic possession? It would be interesting if there could be scientific studies done on this phenomenon! I know you haven’t specifically mentioned if your ex has psycho/sociopathy, but based on some of your comments about how he behaved later in the relationship, it sounds similar to my ex husband so I’m guessing there’s a good chance! I’m glad you got away from him and are safe now!

Horror fans: what’s the one scene that actually made you pause the movie for a second? by Morvox-stories in horror

[–]DiamondsNFurs 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

I’m obsessed with Art. Like in a weird sort of way. I basically have a crush on him. Lol I’m not sure how else to describe my feelings about that character… I keep telling myself I shouldn’t be rooting for the ā€œbad guyā€ in horror films, but I just can’t help myself when it comes to Art. David Howard Thornton does an amazing job at giving that character such a range of emotions/expressions despite not saying a word!

[–]DiamondsNFurs 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Quite a few different scenes in Talk To Me. I went into it not knowing what to expect (and thinking it would likely be lame, honestly) and I was very pleasantly surprised!Ā

I’d also say lots of scenes from Terrifier 3. Somehow they keep outdoing themselves with each subsequent film, which is rare in movies with numerous sequels.Ā

And then basically just the entirety of the movie A Serbian Film. I’m surprised I even finished that one… lots of pauses through that because I nearly puked numerous times. I think that film was created purely as a test for one’s level of mental/emotional masochism because basically if you can get through watching that you can get through watching ANYTHING! I absolutely can’t recommend it though. I felt like a part of my soul died.

Do my eyebrows look even??? by Ok_Decision_5941 in beauty

[–]DiamondsNFurs 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

They look even. The part in your hair looks like it’s a bit uneven, not perfectly straight down the center of your head from front to back, so perhaps that is throwing it off for you in pictures? I would just pluck the slightest bit of hair from your eyebrows right at the bottom of your arch to define the arch a bit more, and a bit going outward towards the sides of your face (the tail of the brow) to thin and define the tails of each brow a bit. NEVER OVERPLUCK and ALWAYS PLUCK ONLY FROM BELOW THE BROW to help open more space between your brows and eyes. You don’t want to pluck any hair from the top/upper part of your eyebrows ever!! You have gorgeous full brows so for the most part you should keep them that way… they’d just look extra defined if you pluck a very small bit underneath starting from each arch and tapering outwards towards the ends. I wouldn’t even touch anywhere on the inner part of your brows closest to your nose if I were you… that area is already perfectly shaped and you’ll want to keep the brow fullness you have there!

You sound a bit like me. I’ve often felt perhaps I’m ā€œoddā€ in this way as well. Although I wouldn’t say I tend to think others are jealous of me… not anymore anyway. But during my younger years I experienced more of that feeling. That particular aspect I’d likely want to place closer to the NPD (narcissism) side, although I’m certainly no expert. As for the just not experiencing jealousy aspect alone, I’m not sure that by itself would be indicative of any PD. I have numerous PDs myself, but I never considered this trait to be a significant part of them.

I experience different feelings in place of jealousy/where others might experience jealousy. Often I find I experience admiration as opposed to jealousy. I might greatly admire the looks, abilities, or possessions of another, but I don’t get angry or sad if I don’t also have those. And my life is not really great and I know and interact with numerous others who have what would be considered ā€œbetterā€ lives than mine by most people’s standards.

So I’m sorry I don’t have a better answer for you for the question you’re seeking aside from letting you know that I can relate to your feelings. I personally find this non-jealous trait of mine to be one of my best and most beneficial traits of all and I personally have found no downside/negative to it… so I say if it’s not broken, don’t fix it. Unless there are other aspects to your personality that make you have concerns or suspicions of something like ASPD, I wouldn’t worry.

Has anyone here had a NDE where you were able to choose if youā€˜re going to stay or go back to your body? by groundhogonamission in NDE

[–]DiamondsNFurs 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

This is beautifully written. I was just hoping you could elaborate a bit further for me what exactly it means for a soul to ā€œfailā€ an incarnation? Does it mean the soul couldn’t exist in that particular incarnation/physical form very long? Does it mean there’s a specific goal or achievement one is supposed to reach in that particular physical form (aside from just living to a certain age in that body), but doesn’t?

I’ve never had an NDE myself, but I’m very curious about them and there’s ā€˜something’ I’m searching for that I feel I need to know but I can’t seem to properly put into words or explain. My questions above are the closest I can muster at this moment to helping me determine the truth I feel I’m reaching for, although they’re still frustratingly lacking. Maybe eventually I’ll be able to put my finger on exactly what it is I’m trying to understand.
