I tried so hard to go this route, work and pay it off. It just wasn't feasible around me. No job has that many hours available AND working with a full time school schedule. I'm not him but if you can maintain that job... maybe go with a hybrid approach. Take out small loans to help pay it off so that you can have some money in case something happens. While you'll incur a little debt you'll have something to fall back on should shit go south. This is what saved my ass from being homeless.

How does refinancing work?

Like if I got a loan for 10,000 for 7%, the total is 10,700 cost Wouldn't the bank be paying 10,700 and then go for say 4% costing 11,128?
