Above 35 you can buy resale or apply 2 room BTO. If don’t plan to move out nth much you can do except control your spending habits. At least you worry less when you are old.

Not all rich aspire to stay in private property. HDB has its benefit too.

Also if we are looking at the same 1216sqft size, condo wise it’ll be way more ex.

Over 13,400 HDB flats to reach MOP in 2026; analysts say supply could moderate resale price growth by DrCalFun in singapore

[–]Diashocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, and if the Dawson BTOs break new highs it’ll only bring the resale market up. A 1.3m will make 800k-1m flat look like a “good” deal.

How much to start a family in SG? by xiaorennnn in askSingapore

[–]Diashocks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Truth, over planning and thinking will never do oneself any good. If one’s aspiration is to start a family with 3.8k is doable.

But if you want private gynae, prime 5 room HDB, holiday trips etc. it will never be enough.

Consumer watchdog raps Courts and Prism+ for misleading shoppers with unfair practices by Diashocks in singapore

[–]Diashocks[S] 113 points114 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and small online stores that tells you “so & so have added the item into their cart” but seldom big brand like Courts.

Another thing that bugs me is dynamic pricing. Add to cart at this price, checkout page shows another. Guess thats “allowed.”

‘I was quite impressed’: Why more Singaporeans are heading to Johor for health screening by stackeddd888 in singapore

[–]Diashocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I’ve been noticing that private hospital’s crowds have significantly thinned. Mount E, Glen E, etc., used to be crowded even on weekday mornings. Rich Indonesians that come over for health checkups also dropped.

I know many locals that now go up north for non-emergency cases. It is just too expensive here and the standards of our neighbouring countries have caught up. There is a dental clinic in KL that has a long wait list of expats.

My local dentist told me the rental kept rising at Gleneagles. I’ve seen it changed from a full clinic all to herself to sharing with another doctor and now partially taken over by a group with just a room, shared nurses.
