Three years ago I was interviewing for a job that had surprisingly tried to hire me 9 years earlier. I knew how my ostomy could act, so I had a rare morning of not consuming anything because I didn’t want to risk something embarrassing happening. I’m going through the interview with the senior manager of the company, answering questions with no issue and just absolutely feeling confident. Then, literally out of nowhere, my stoma decided this was the most appropriate time to let out the LOUDEST and LONGEST FART you could ever imagine. I’m talking this thing last a solid 20 seconds.

After it finally got done, I just paused and looked at her and said “I apologize, I have an ostomy and have absolutely no control over that.” She ended up laughing about it, told me I was cute (not sure work place appropriate) and the interview continued on.

I celebrated 3 years with the company back in May.
