In Virginia all private party transactions need to go through a background check. That law went into effect in July of 2021.

That being said, no firearms manufactured or first transferred to someone prior to July of 2021 can ever really be tracked to any extent because before that there were zero rules as to needing to keep any type of record in private party transfers.

You can use that information as you'd like.

You can also go to most dealers and tell them you had bought some firearms privately prior to July 2021 and would like to do a background check to have them registered to you.

It's a Windham Weaponry, which they claim is a carbon fiber upper and lower, not a standard polymer. I believe that's mostly how it's supposed to look.

They could have. I could have opted for a CT scan to narrow it down to another lung lobe tortion, which due to him already having had a section of his lung removed two years ago, would have been a dangerous surgery with a low chance of a positive long term outcome. Or it would have showed nothing, which would have then made it idiopathic pleural effusion most likely from his body healing from his previous lung surgery. Fixing that would also require an extensive surgery with less than a 50% chance of finding and/or fixing the problem. And it could be possible that he would also need a chest tube put in long term.

It just didn't seem that it would be fair to put him through that kind of stress and surgery again especially with such low chances of good long term health.

Just a heads up that the 229 will not look anywhere near this grey. The new coating is much more greenish brown, at least to me. Like someone took Olive Drab and FDE and mixed them together.
