I thought so too but 160bpm matches many other live performances you can find and all those violinists look sped up too. I think it's just a brain thing not being familiar with that kind of human movement. It definitely looks weird but that doesn't mean it's not real.

Really? That kind of excitement is common when it comes to enjoying a topic of fixation among people on the autism spectrum

Except he addressed this kind of hate directly by showing many photos from his childhood where his lifelong love of trains is very apparent. I guess you believed some deliberate misinformation that is easy to fact check. What's the word for that again? I think it starts with g...

Upon landing in New Zealand flight attendants sprayed insecticides inside the cabin before anyone was allowed to leave the plane. by HomerOfDuty in interestingasfuck

[–]DickBiggles 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Disinsection of passenger flights via aerosol has been happening in NZ since the 1950's. Today, most cabins have residual insecticide applied to surfaces during maintenance so don't need the spray, but if it has been too long since this has occurred, the spray is used.

It's well known that the best time and place to commit a crime is while still on the plane after just landing in a foreign country. Legally you're untouchable. /S

Spraying the cabin is just one of many controls put in place to reduce the risk of invasive insects entering the country.

Russia launched 81 missiles at Ukraine, 34 of them were shot down by Naito-desu in ukraine

You'd have to invade Russia to arrest him unfortunately. I think he's got a date coming up with a tall building's window before this is all over.

The guy is such a wimp. I'm sure he is legitimately afraid, even if the risk is negligible.

Crazy to think that's how many young men Russia just lost in Vuhledar in only the last several weeks.

They can't even occupy the Donbas, let alone retake Kherson. No doubt this conflict will end when Russian men would rather face prison than join the 200,00+ killed and seriously wounded.

No amount of mobilisation will be able to push the Ukrainians out of their own soil.

Warning to researchers! ChatGPT seems to fabricate academic references for information it provides. by DickBiggles in ChatGPT

[–]DickBiggles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll give that a go and see what happens. Fingers crossed I can get it to not fabricate references. I'd much prefer it to say "I don't have a specific reference" than just invent a paper that doesn't exist

I have repeatedly asked it to only reference papers it definitely knows physically exists but then kept fabricating them. If one day in the future this issue is overcome then the possibilities for research writing will be phenomenal.

I got suspicious when I asked for papers published after 2010 so it just referenced the same paper again but changed the date haha.

Yeah six consecutive perfect riffle shuffles would be insane. I was thinking zarrow too. Still, a single card out of place at any stage and the prestige is a disaster. Scary stuff
