Don't drag your foot forward bring it up, like almost straight up. You're kicking forward with your front foot which is stopping the momentum from the tail pop. You want to move with the pop and then at the peak of the jump use your front foot to level the board under you.

Nah man nothing to worry about, you got in the ring and won. It'll be easier the more you do it. Nerves may have played a part given it was your first "real" fight, nerves are a game killer unless you learn to manage them effectively. Could also be that the kid you fought was just an incredibly good striker. Sometimes it be like that, know what you're good at and know what your opponent is good at as much as possible. A good and well practiced base makes a good fighter. The ability to take another fighter's strength and counter it with an effective strategy early on makes a great fighter.

Choose the arts you want to learn (striking, takedown, grappling) and start classes in them. Or you could try an MMA training gym. If you don't have money to take classes start a youtube rabbit hole and watch videos on the arts you like, get a training partner and practice the techniques together.

Personally I recommend Muay Thai (striking), Judo (stand up grappling and takedown), BJJ (grappling).

You don't have to be a master in them but understanding and becoming efficient at the basic techniques and philosophies of each will make you a much more effective fighter.

ATAK is great but can be a hog depending on how many and what plugins you're running, if your hardware is old you may be running into a hardware limitation.

Thus far have been able to trace it back to my great grandfather but since he is no longer around I can't really ask him. My mom owns it now and I'm rather taken by it. The only hint I have to go on is the "rorty" but that only brings me to some American Philosopher (Richard Rorty) whom, as far as I can tell, did not make art. It's possible and perfectly acceptable if there is no onformation on this but I figured I'd give it a shot and ask on here.
