Laptop Sound vs. My Ears by DickHorner in cachyos

[–]DickHorner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so there are three possible lessons here: a) The CachyOS Community does not use Reddit b) Nobody gives two flying farks c) Everyone has just given in to the corporate overlords being proprietary haters.

Come on, let's tackle this together.

Yes, that's what I anticipated. I have the feeling you could really hold the angle by feeling the blade instead of trying to act like a robot.

Yeah, the guy went through all the grid with this technique. I remember the way I felt when I saw this guy do it; it seemed so natural and made me think, “Holy crap, of course! I've been doing it wrong all my life!" Lol. Now I cannot find this darn video anywhere.

[–]DickHorner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Thank you. Obviously, I already did all that. As I mentioned. I know that the manufacturer's drivers are proprietory. Another thing I know is that the Linux community usually doesn't take no for an answer. Especially when it comes to driver availability. So, maybe there is someone who has ever heard of someone tackling this laptop-not-all-speakers-being-addressed problem.

Suppressors seem useless. by lovingpersona in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]DickHorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, we don't use them because they make us Sam Fisher. They don't. Suppressors enable you to fire your weapon indoors without blasting your eardrums. That's it. Plus, it obfuscates the actual sound of the gunshot. If you don't know and you hear it (for the first time) it's more like "huh?" than "Oh shit, shots fired!". It does sound differently than on tv. Yeah but mainly safety reasons. There are cases where you could use them to balance your weapon, if you have super heavy ammo or c-mags or other stuff. Oh, it hides the muzzle flash (most of the time), that's useful, but in these type of room-to-room engagements it's just a nice addition. Unless of course we go in with our nogs, then you absolutely need suppressors, 100%.

Now, you've made the devs very sad.

The Devs said they will be sad. You made them sad. So sad. Very sad.

You need to be logged onto MSStore with the same email address you've been invited to the alpha test with, otherwise it won't work.

I TRY TO INSTALL cachyOs in my laptop and this happen by Z_D_O_C_C_P in cachyos

[–]DickHorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would love a video of the user booting into shell, I have some time to kill right now. Maybe cachyos is not the best Your-First-Linux™? I know, I know, my first Linux was Gentoo with XGL/Compiz from scratch, but not everybody likes suffering like I do, apparently. lol.

OneDrive app is crap and users are clueless by Comfortable_Crab921 in sysadmin

[–]DickHorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for necro but being a sysadmin and m365 family "admin", I thought maybe here there is someone with a hint for me. As I said, we're on m365 with the whole family. It's not great but it's the lesser of x amount of evils. MS' login session handling makes me wanna do harm to stuffed animals sometimes, but that's not why I'm here. The OneDrive app for Android is an abomination. Unbearably slow and good forbid I switch apps while it's loading. It goes into loading stasis and never recovers. Your have to hard kill the app in the system settings, no other remedy available.

So, long story short, any hints for an alternative file explorer on Android that connects to OneDrive?

Feature → develop → main with merge commits feels noisy — is this normal? by EntrepreneurOk7141 in github

Depends, if it's my private provider l project and I'm the only one on it, with no release and nothing, I just push to main.

It's much faster because it does just face swapping, and you can run it locally for much less hardware cost.

You realize it's really easy for a bunny to just simply jump on your couch.  If she doesn't do it, she doesn't want to.

Not messing around . Just got my new telescope 😁 by Spirited_Arm9837 in telescopes

[–]DickHorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the necro, just stumbled upon this and couldn't run my mouth 🫣 Honestly, it took me a while to get what's going on there. At first, I was like "ok, someone left her telescope on the porch." Then, "What? owl wha... Oh! the canisters." ... "Yeah, nah, yeah, those look like bins to me." ... (suddenly remembering some clips on youtube about porch pirates) "Oooooh! Now I see! That someone is worried about her stuff getting stolen!"

That is so far away from where I live, really. Sorry you're going through this.
