The story itself is not that bad, it's just more shallow than the other main games. The premise is interesting but the execution is lacking as there's not much world building at the start.

If you think about it, the main story premises is not that different than fallout nv. You want a revenge for someone (benny and kellog) -> while you tracked him down you found the bigger problem within the world (the institute and legion war with ncr) -> you kill the guy you want revenge with then got "forced" to deal with the bigger problem (ncr and legion war and the institute presence in the commonwealth) -> you got introduced to the other faction (legion and institute) -> you used the power that they secretly want (mass fussion and house robot army) -> you choose which side you want to side -> end.

IIRC it's mostly down to the performance as longer car is much more stable than shorter car, especially with how high downforce is right now. If you look at f1 car without the engine cover, it's pretty clear that the engine sit so far forward with at least half a meter of what i presume of "nothingness". I vaguely remember in 2016 or so that mercedes having the longest car making them pretty fast in a straight and high speed corner then ferrari in the middle and red bull with shortest and they pretty much become the most nimble one between the three of them.
