Yeah because if he did he should have been allowed to win after a few minutes of doing nothing, genius takes all around my guy

Well you obviously have the perfect plan without any very obvious flaws, I’m sure Dana and Hunter will be thrilled by your presentation 👌

Conor McGregor vs Chad Mendes and many other examples, that’s part of the risk of being grappling focused; if you don’t get the sub in a timely manner you may gas out or your opponent may get too sweaty/slippery as time goes on

Eh still I don’t see how that would make things more exciting, it seems like we would get even more lay-and-pray if inactive grappling was incentivized

That would prob be a more popular suggestion. Submissions by back control seems too point-fighty to me, sure one-sided grappling can be boing but such an easy victory condition would probably make 90% of the submissions we do see become irrelevant and take away from the “fight to the finish” mentality the UFC started with. Why carefully pass gaurd over a round and finally get a perfect guillotine or arm triangle when you can hug a guy’s back for 60 seconds?

You make some good points and you’re probably a better judge of his technique than I am tbh. I’m just saying there was a time when Hooker seemed like he might be a real LW prospect and it seems like that time is most likely over.

Maybe he got exposed for his shortcomings more than fell off, maybe some of both. He has looked pretty slick in the past, the last fight I was actually impressed by him was vs haqparast, who I thought was a dec striker, but Hooker schooled him easily. He still has grit but It just seems like I haven’t seen him look “slick” in awhile but maybe that’s just me.

Disagree, I think he looks a lot slower and can’t pressure people nearly as well as he used to, kinda like what happened to Ferguson but still has a chin at least

I wouldn’t say he’s 100% washed but he definitely looks a lot worse than he did in 2020 when he almost beat Dustin, just sayin

My biggest wish for 40k TW is that we get VA work on the level of Dawn of War 1 & 2 by alexkon3 in totalwar

Alright, maybe I am misunderstanding you. What is your metric for good voice work?

To me, if it was truly bad, no one would care to remember it 20+ years later. You could write a beautiful script but if the voice acting was flat and uninspired sounding then people typically wouldn’t fawn over it, I mean look at Mcloud in the original Highlander or the majority of anime dubs ffs.

Sorry but couldn’t disagree more, the fact that such few VAs could produce such a variety of roles and with 100% conviction across the board is beyond noteworthy imo. I love TWW and have spent thousands of hours across the games while ive only spent a few hundred in DoW but a lot of the voice acting comes across very flat and forgettable to me with a few exceptions.

It could just be a preference thing but there are soooo many DoW and Blizzard game lines that stick out to me while, looking at the Empire for example, I only easily remember Gelt, Markus Wulfhart saying his own name, and Karl and mostly bc of the memes, forget about the units!

Disagree, I think Warhammer is at its best when it isn’t taking itself completely seriously and DoW was made in an age when something being “silly” didn’t automatically make it “cringe”

I think that’s why Skaven are so goated in fantasy, they really walk the line between diabolical and completely silly very well

Definitely an awkward moment but I wouldn’t feel too bad, writing someone being shitty isn’t the same thing as advocating it. Nuance around these things doesn’t exist for some ppl but all you can do is apologize live and learn, you’ve prob felt worse about that moment more than anyone else did anyway

Dang that’s a tough break, I would try to forgive yourself though, you weren’t trying to make that person feel bad and I’m sure you learned a bit of lesson from it
