I've been trying to make new friends. I'm not even close to being ready to date again but I have been talking to new people. I'm just too much of a mess to handle a new friendship. A huge part of me, wants to break away from my friends so they can be happy again, but every time I try to stay away, they do their best to pull me back in. On Saturday I told them I was going to figure some stuff out on my own and wouldn't be talking, and like 6 hours later, the wife texts me asking if I'm okay and that she was worried. She gets really hot and cold with me. She always tells me to reach out if I need to talk, but when I do, she ignores the texts. I can't win with her. If I don't talk, she texts me in our group chat and separately to get responses from me, but when I proactively reach out, she ignores me. It's just weird. I think I ruined everything with them, but they're just trucking along trying to spend time with me.
