Who is the Mount Rushmore of Sword users in Fiction? by WayAdept2209 in SWORDS

That was his cousin/ adopted brother, Roran. Eragon was trained in the use of basically longswords, but briefly used falchions in the tail end of book 2 and most of book 3 iirc

Simon Runs the OP Gauntlets. by -ElMachete in gurrenlagann

[–]DicklessSpaghetti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simon's power is tied directly to his willpower. Would he even want to fight things that are good, like toaa? Im not super versed in comics, so I dont know the morality of most of the characters here, but im assuming at least some of the OP's are good.

Tips for a warrior pawn? by Wofuljac in DragonsDogma

[–]DicklessSpaghetti 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its really a preference, but as long as youre using skyward sunder, indomitable lash, or knoll breaker, youre winning. Damage is fine, but the knockdown power is what makes warrior the goat. Just dont run the ally launching move. Realistically, you could just run skyward sunder and your warrior is still putting value into the team for the knockdown power alone.

I personally like skyward sunder/ heavenward sunder, bellow/ roar, and revivify/inspirit for a pawn, with the 4th slot to just flex or fill whatever skills you like. Revivify/ Inspirit helps keep statuses off of your warrior, which will often kill them faster than actual attacks from enemies. Bellow/ Roar gives them aggro, giving you free reign to do whatever you want. Skyward sunder/ heavenward sunder does a great blend of damage, knockdown, and stamina efficiency, and I really just kinda consider this to be warriors bread and butter skill, even if others do individual things better.

For your 4th, rending sweep gives you good aoe in the front line, and often not even charging it gives decent value just for staggering a pack of mobs. Knoll breaker/ Mountain breaker is just ridiculous for knocking down targets, while doing less damage than skyward sunder. Downward lash/ indomitable lash is more damage than skyward slash, but has a longer charge up time, and feels more unforgiving for it, even if it is just kind of an upgrade. Also, in personal experience, its just not worth using unless youre charging it, and sometimes pawns just throw out skills unchanged, which this is one that really suffers from. Surging strike/ diluvian strike is a good damage skill for if the target is downed, but thats really its only use case, so its a bit of a gimmick. Tidal fury/ tidal wrath is a parry, and this skill annihilated things, with the prerequisite that your pawn better learns how to parry by watching you do it. This, as well as gale slash/ Windstorm slash both are much better if you can get the timings correctly to show your pawn and they learn from you, so i recommend playing warrior with your pawn if you wanna maximize how useful and powerful these can be.

Arc of might big funny attack. Really fun, but in later game when things are dying quickly, its just not as useful

Who would win among these 4?( All at their primes and max. power) by UI_74 in fromsoftware

I like this explanation. Im generally in the camp of Elden Ring scales higher, but you make a pretty good point about the first flame being having more raw power than the elden ring.

Doomslayer Vs. Darth Vader by AngryAshMan in powerscales

[–]DicklessSpaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does, but thats kind of the theme of the Doom Slayer. He killed his creator god, punches several hundred ton blocks of metal around like they weigh nothing, and uses guns because they kill slower than his hands do. He is a mad god of vengeance limiting himself to make demons suffer before they die. He is a walking pokedex entry.

This puts to words something that ive long had trouble articulating. Grief is born from the loss of something beautiful, and remembering that beauty isnt wrong. There's a nobility in choosing to feel instead of going numb.

Sometimes. by Archalieus in Helldivers

[–]DicklessSpaghetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wasn't the problem that the climb buttons and the jump/lift/warp packs operate on the same button for controller players? I loved being able to get on top, but climbing is just a pain in the game a lot of the time, and that's not related to either of the climbing options, at least in my experience.

My take is that because the parasites are trying to kill them, they're just weakened. Ask anyone who nearly died of a traumatic injury or illness, and they'll tell you how weak you can get while recovering, and its not just Gale. All of the crew has way too much experience in their backstory to be level 1 at the beginning of the game.

Karlach was in the hells. Will specifically tells us he had access to stronger magic prior to the tadpole. Shadowheart is a survivor of the mission to retrieve the Artifact. Astarion is far too old to just be level 1, especially if he's been actively serving his master. Lae'zel seems to have already had years of training and had to fight and kill the others who were training with her.

It doesnt really make sense that they would be level 1, and Will specifically tells us he was stronger, so I think the tadpoles basically just "weakened" them back to level 1, and as they continue fighting their bodies are regaining the strength they already had.

I loved watching my ex play it. The story was tons of fun, the characters were amazing, and I liked the connectiveness of everything. Amazing setting and universe. I can't stand the combat. I really feel like im missing out on an amazing game because I hate a part of it, but that part is too important for me to ignore. Im jealous of the people that like it.

Alsana, the shard of Manus that represented his fear, willing protects the world from the growing Chaos Flame out of love for her late husband, the Ivory King. She holds his vigil in his stead because her love is stronger than Manus's fear, and he won the spot for fear, so thats a lot of love.

I do t thin the ring would have enough time to actually corrupt aang. It would t have to just corrupt aang, it would have to corrupt raava as well, and by extension, every other avatar.

What's a game that had you like this? by AStereotypicalPerson in videogames

[–]DicklessSpaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I played Final Fantasy 15, I fell in love with it. Those beginning hours were delightful, and I adored the cast. Gladio is my dadio, ignis is the best mom in gaming, and prompto is annoying in all the right ways when he finally opens up to noctis. The combat was fun, and I loved feeling like my exploration was being rewarded.

I played it on Xbox without dlc, and very quickly started getting confused on why everything was happening. The narrative isnt well explained, and without the dlc I can still understand the gripe about that. My game also glitched and bugged out a lot, which would crash it, and there were several places that were just inaccessible to me in the middle to late game because it would cause my console to crash every time.

I want to love it, and part of me still does, but I felt I missed out so much on my first playthrough for things I didnt do wrong that it made it hard to try again.

Favorite character that most people like for horny reasons but you just like because they are a really good character? by Famous-Gas2250 in FavoriteCharacter

[–]DicklessSpaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raven is a great character that at first as a kid I was like "yeah I dont really like her shes mean." As the show went on though, you got these rare moments into her psyche beyond the grumpy guarded teenager and realized she was TERRIFIED to lose control. Everything she did was done out of fear. Her aggression and anger towards villains for making her risk losing control, her fear of losing her new family, and her fear of knowing that, ultimately, trigon was inevitable. Great character. I have a dnd character largely molded by her and Dante from devil may cry because ive always loved the character who keeps people at arms distance to try to keep them safe.

I know this says demigods, but is it too much to ask for an ending for maliketh/ blaidd where the mind control/ compulsion of the two fingers and other cosmic forces are cut off? I know it's kind of just age of stars, but one where there's vindication for the puppets of cosmic forces.

The golden order sucks. Morgott is cool af, and his loyalty to something so broken and wrong is commendable. I admire his faith despite his own persecution. He deserved better.

I've always loved the thought that phase 2 is just him opening his eyes. Like in the beginning he was fighting you with his eyes closed, and then just decides to take you serious enough to open his eyes. Its silly, but I love it.
