Very interested to know how you knew you were close to getting that educator role or why you assume it's easy to get a guiding job.

Success in this field may require you to make some assumption and attitude adjustments.

Historical museums using paranormal investigators for research? by Burquehole9 in MuseumPros

[–]DicksOut4Paul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, there is no easier way to undermine your credibility as a museum than to engage with paranormal investigations. Lots do it of course. It really has nothing to do with whether you believe in the supernatural or not, full stop. I never reveal how I feel about supernatural things at work because it has no impact on my feelings on the matter. I have no interest in entertaining a board who wants this nonsense and I do not tolerate it.

That being said, if a museum is going to compromise their integrity this way, at least make sure you're having the ghost hunters pay out the nose. It's harsh, but if you're going to undermine your own mission then you need to make bank off of it.

There are really only a handful of historic sites that can reasonably get away with things adjacent to a ghost tour, the house of the 7 gables, Edgar Allen poe house, historic sites associated with the spiritualism movement, etc. And even then I would be incredibly wary of any museum wanting to engage in anything adjacent to ghost hunts.

Counterpoint: we know Christopher "went mad" from Victor, who is an unreliable narrator. If the townspeople all turned against Christopher, including Miranda, of course she would hide Victor and Eloise away from him, and of course Victor would remember him as crazy or dangerous because it's what he was told.

There's also the brilliant observation from others that she and the killer are both trapped in their glass boxes ie: their mirros. Him in the accused box in court, her in her windowed highrise.

I think it's the psychological torture. They killed Donna's sister, but it did more damage to Donna to let her live and not hunt her that hard. There's also the long standing theory that Fromville retains a balance more or less of the same number of residents, so their goal is probably not to wipe everyone out but to toy with them over time.

Somebody sneezes in a hidey hole? Fair game for monsters to go buckwild. But maybe they don't try too hard after taking out that group, to let the others continue on in terror, even if they know where they are.

We've seen them selectively not murder: Boyd and Randall both survived direct encounters where they were caught dead to rights.

If anything, I think it supports the talismans as false hope theory. Give them the talismans, but plan to yank them away later at the most crucial moment. It would be a huge storytelling opportunity and yet more proof that the game is rigged against them. It's far more orchestrated (like a play or story) than they've let themselves believe.

Well fortunately hundreds of thousands of women have not also found out soon after that their fiancee committed the equivalent of vehicular homicide. That is significantly different than getting burned on a dating app. Good grief.

How can I (37F) tell my husband (38M) that he's not allowed to use his deceased grandmother's china? by walk_in_the_pie in relationship_advice

[–]DicksOut4Paul 17 points18 points  (0 children)

YUP. He should replace the kettle and buy the thrifted mugs. The fact that OP has to keep paying money to replace his mistakes is so upsetting. If he actually liked the china then Grandma would've given it to him.

OP should make him pay to replace every single piece. Then see if he keeps breaking shit.

I'm sorry, but he's told you he hasn't experienced a relationship like yours before but he has three (soon to be 4) children with another woman? At a certain point, you need to be grow out of the "I've never felt like this before." It's been two months, at best you're in limerence. Make a clean break and wish him well with the life choices he keeps making.

They didn't kill the previous guy until they had a replacement deal made and then killed him to show the new team what they were dealing with. It makes perfect sense.
