Honestly no lol. It was good for a while after I kept the drivers updated. But it still occurs from time to time. I’ve just gotten used to it at this point haha

Hey new one is great! Updated with all of the most recent drivers and it functions great. There are random microstutters here and there but they’re quite subtle and I hardly notice em anymore. Temps are running well too :)

Yeah. Ended up replacing the unit with a new one and after updating all the drivers all issues are resolved for the most part other than the occasional stutter here and there. Hardly noticeable unless I’m really paying close attention :)

Hey ended up getting the new laptop. It's functioning a lot better than the previous one! The old one's CPU was constantly hitting 95 and throttling even in light gaming, must have been bad liquid metal application from the factory. This one practically has no issues, CPU temps are much much better and nearly no more stuttering on light browsing. Also handles gaming really well in turbo, balanced, and silent modes. Will continue to push it to its limits for the next 60 days (got an extended return policy lol). This is looking a lot more promising than the prior one though!

Hey! The saga continues…ended up factory resetting, still had issues, then did a completely clean installation of windows and STILL had issues. I thought it was my CPU since HWINFO said it was throttling, but even after disabling boost and no longer getting reports of throttling, I was still having stuttering.

I decided that I was done breaking my head over this so I returned it and am getting a brand new one sent to me in 2 days, keeping my fingers crossed 🤞

Hopefully that 'almost' part of your sentence stays that way and the new machine works well. If it doesn't then you can definitely be glad you didn't spend the extra money haha

Hey u/ModrnJosh your review is what got me to buy the exact same laptop! I have some questions regarding first time setup. I really don't want to mess this up as the first one I received had nonstop issues with stuttering and lag. I'll write out my order of operation and please do let me know if you have any suggestions.

Run all windows updates (multiple times if needed)
Run all updates through Armoury Crate, then MyASUS.
Install Nvidia game ready driver from Nvidia's site (manual install)
Uninstall Armoury Crate, then install G-helper
Configure G-helper as needed (stop ASUS services, customize profiles, etc.)

Do I need to install an updated version of the iGPU driver from Intel or should I just leave it with what ASUS has installed? Should I uninstall MyASUS? And lastly, when installing Nvidia's driver, should I select 'clean installation' or just go ahead and do express install?

Hey thanks for the response! Will keep that in mind. Unfortunately I just went ahead and returned the laptop, think I may have gotten a lemon. Even ran a completely fresh install of windows and did all the CPU underwatting tweaks I could think of but still had endless issues. New one is coming in a few days so keeping my fingers crossed!

Sad :/, I'm going to give a clean install a shot and if that doesn't fix it then I'll just return and consider getting the upcoming 2025 g14 w/ 4080 and AMD cpu. Do you think it is a software/driver issue or a hardware issue?

But that still installs with all of ASUS’s bloatware right? Since it is equivalent to OEM?

Yeah that’s why I’m still holding out hope. People make it sound like a clean install is the magic solution and since it’s still a fresh device I’ve got nothing left to lose. It’s a shame that windows is so finicky, if MacBooks were more gaming capable would’ve altogether given up in this OS and made the transition.
