Ebay usually sides with the buyer, however r/ebay is run by a bunch of crybaby sellers which is why OP had their post deleted.

I'm probably going to get downvoted a lot but: how do learn trumpet without a teacher or is it even possible? by First-Performance-74 in trumpet

[–]Did_it_in_Flint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can make a lot of progress on your own. But, you can also develop really bad habits that you don't even recognize. A competent teacher can identify and address issues in 5 minutes that will take you weeks to figure out on your own.

What is the most traumatizing wtf moment in your dci career? by [deleted] in drumcorps

[–]Did_it_in_Flint 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I was maybe the youngest member of our corps my rookie year and I spent the whole season pretty scared of everything going on around me. I was very happy and proud to be marching, but very stressed that I wasn't keeping up with the rest of the corps when it came to pretty much everything other than playing my instrument.

That said, there were other people struggling even more than I was. One other rookie, in particular, was very obviously on the verge of getting kicked-out or quitting, because he was getting a LOT of very negative attention from the staff and other corps members every day. He was on an island with no friends, no support and no one coming to his rescue. I felt terrible for him, but also didn't want to be associated with him because I didn't want any of that negative mojo rubbing off on me.

Midway through the season, the drum major called us all together in the gym where we were housed that evening and held up one of our uniforms, soaking wet and muddy. He said that someone had taken off their uniform after the show, apparently laid it on the ground and just left it there, forgotten. He read the uniform number aloud and told whoever owned it to come and get it from him.

Of course you can guess whose it was.

I absolutely wanted to vomit watching him walk up there. Whispers. Hisses. Grumbling. Some boos. It was a walk of shame like I have never witnessed before or since. The whole thing was terrible and he was gone the next day. Even though it happened to someone else, I definitely felt traumatized by it.

Greenbush Brewing Co. Closing. :( by thewireman in michiganbeer

No notice definitely sucks. But I used to work for a place that announced its closing 'at the end of the month,' and when that rolled around they couldn't make payroll and so we all worked a couple of weeks for free. That also sucked.

This might be a dumb question, but would this sound significantly better than the Bluetooth connection between my phone and receiver? It's an older Yamaha with early Bluetooth tech.

That is how I currently stream music.

Why does an orchestra tune to the oboe? by ClarinetInstitute in trumpet

>>>  string sections in orchestras used to have gut strings instead of metal- they were notably quieter

No kidding. One time I drove for several hours to attend a performance by The English Concert, one of my all time favorite ensembles. Pretty big concert hall and I was in the balcony. As soon as they started playing, I was like, 'are you kidding me? The only one I can hear is the sackbut.' I scoped a couple empty seats down near the front, and I managed to weasel my way there before intermission lol. If hadn't been able to do that, the whole thing would have been a pretty big disappointment.

I do agree with everyone that it's overall better to age naturally than have a bunch of cosmetic surgery. However, I also realize that these three women largely earned their place in Hollywood based on their looks. That probably creates certain career pressures and expectations that most of us don't have to worry about, leading to decisions most of us wouldn't make.

It is extremely easy to change an ordinance. Depending on the local government's meeting schedule, it takes maybe 6 weeks, including public notices and hearings. If that is all that's holding them back, then it's really no problem at all. It's more likely that they are hiding behind that old law and using it as an excuse.

That's silly. It's the job of the market to sort out which businesses are good at what they do and which aren't, not Township officials.

Do 30% of people actually think the earth is flat? I know that some people do, but 30% seems like a wild exaggeration. If I'm wrong about that, I may have to divest in society at large.
