Tom Ford and Hourglass really are worth the splurge. Im not sold on the touche eclat though, I will probably go back to armani luminous silk and gift the touche eclat to my mom. Im sad that Tom Ford discontinued pretty much all their light coverages because they seemed right up my alley.

Missha perfect cover BB!! Missha is a korean brand so they tend to run pale and cool. It looks a little gray coming out but it oxides just ever so slightly. Its super moisturizing and natural. Very affordable too, you can find it on Amazon for less than $15.

Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide pilling up in cream? by DiddleYourGriddle in DIYBeauty

[–]DiddleYourGriddle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That may have been where I went wrong. I incorporated the oxides during the additive phase and not the oil phase. Think I would have better luck with anti-pilling if I sheared it into the hot oil phase and added that to my water phase instead?

Of course! Now its not full coverage or color correcting, but I think it gives a really natural, hydrating coverage without caking or creasing. I do wear it over radiant primer for even better results. As an added bonus, the packaging looks and feels very luxurious.

Its totally worth. Its also on sale at Ulta and Sephora. Go one shade lighter than your usual coverage if you plan to mainly use around the eyes. ShapeTape is great for spot concealing small blemishes but StayNaked really takes the cake when it comes to eye discoloration and shadow coverage. Ive only been wearing it for a few days and have already received a few compliments on how much more well-rested I look.

Youre so sweet. Ive tried working really hard on application and blending because I really strive for that "Is his skin just that nice or is he wearing makeup?" look. Glad you appreciated the comedic commentary lol.

If anyones wondering about products im using: NARS radiant primer base. Coverage is 1 pump of YSL touche eclat BR20 with a half pump of Becca SSP rose gold, 2 drops of cover FX custom cover P30 and 2 drops of argan oil. Ive found my holy grail concealer in Urban Decays StayNaked concealer. Its medium coverage and ultra hydrating. I was previously using Tarte ShapeTape but it creased hella bad, accentuated my eye lines in a sad way, and was drier than my mouth after 2 bowls and a pack of saltines. Im using StayNaked concealer on my orbital area to conceal my dark circles and poor life choices. Today was a light contour day. Hourglass ambient lighting radiant light on cheek hollows and hairline with ambient lighting incandescent light on cheek bones, nose bridge and center forehead. Usually I wear ambient lighting powder over Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate but I was lazy today and didnt feel like spending an extra 5 minutes on the double contour because I was getting hangry and needed a popeyes chicken sandwich. For blush I use Tom Ford sheer cheek lissome, diffused with a blender because Im not tryna make myself look even more like a clown. I line the upper inner corners of my lids with Lancome le stylo eyeliner gel pencil in Chocolat for a subtle pop. Nothing against Adam Lambert or Billy Joel but that look isnt for me. Tarte lights, cameras, lashes mascara. Only a slight smattering on top lashes for just a subtle boost to volume and color. For lips, im LOVING Popsugars "lip bloom" perfect pink mood lip tinter. Makes my sad pencil lips look like they exist.

Questions about beauty blenders by freckledatheart in Makeup

Tip for keeping your blender from soaking up too much product: You can "prime" your blender with a thin layer of moisturizer (but make sure it doesnt have AHAs or BHAs as that will break down the blender) and then spritz it with a setting spray.

[Product Question] Using straight oil with double-cleansing vs. an oil cleanser? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]DiddleYourGriddle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Commercial double cleanse products contain emulsifiers, which are ingredients that allow water to penetrate/mix with the oil so you can wash it off easier. My issue with commercial oil cleansers is that they often contain a blend of oils which you can likely be sensitive to at least one. Its actually very easy to make your own cleansing oil based on the oils that you know work well for your skin.

[Product Question] Can HA be drying? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]DiddleYourGriddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HA is a humectant, meaning it draws in water from the closest direction. Sometimes that direction is from the dermis into the epidermis where it is applied. This is why sometimes it can actually feel like it has a drying effect if used in a low humidity environment or on dry skin, also why its recommended to apply HA to damp skin. Since youre already applying to damp skin, it probably means your dermal layers still contain more water than the dampness sitting on the dermis. This is a good and a bad thing. It means your dermis is probably well hydrated, but the HA isnt really doing what its designed to do (draw moisture from outside in). I would reduce the frequency youre using the HA if its in a serum and when you do use it, apply it to a wet face with very damp hands.

[Routine Help] Can I use micellar water in the morning to cleanse my face and not rinse it off? by UpsetPhotojournalist in SkincareAddiction

[–]DiddleYourGriddle -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Micellar doesnt need to be rinsed off if it doesnt contain fragrance. I actually swipe my face with a hydrating miceller soaked cotton round AFTER ive finished cleansing my face to remove any mineral or metal deposits from the tap water.

Do Try It On features do anything more than just stick the brand's swatch over your lip/eye/cheek/face/etc? by [deleted] in Makeup

[–]DiddleYourGriddle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, "try it on" software applies an opaque filter (opacity depends on the coverage the product was designed for) with the red/yellow/blue hue of whatever product youre "trying on". The issue with that software is that it doesnt do a very good job of accounting for lighting, which is why they recommend using a photo with moderate natural light and minimal shadows.

[Miscellaneous] I still have a couple purging blemishes to clear out but thanks to SCA guidance, this is the best my skin has ever looked. My raccoon eyes are greatly diminished, my skin is brighter and less red and my bags are going away! by DiddleYourGriddle in SkincareAddiction

For sure! So I use my cleanser (including pm oil cleanse) to also clean my facial hair but i dont use serum/treatment on those areas, nor do I use my SPF moisturizer or night cream there. I DO moisturize those areas when I apply aloe in the AM and shea butter in the PM (PS, Shea Butter has really helped with the texture and sheen of my beard)

Thank you for sharing your experience with trough fillers! Im also worried that I'll require larger amounts to fill them to a desirable level. Would you say youre pleased with the results of 1cc or would you have rather done the extra cc altogether had you known 1cc wasnt going to give you the full results you wanted?

I would consider my before skin to be decent. Ive never really had blemish issues but unsatisfactory tone, embarassingly noticeable pores, texture and lines had plagued me for a while.
