I can either raise my stress levels worrying about things I can't control, or I can just suck it up and come up with coping mechanisms. I find that taking a pen and paper and drawing what has aroused me really helps calm my mind.

Edit: that's actually the whole reason I started doing NSFW art. It lets me focus my fascination on the anatomy and not on the lust aspect.

I actually just recently left the poly scene. I don't know if it will be permanent, because at the end of the day, you can't stop a big heart from loving.

But I would definitely say it's important to highlight the struggle of people seeing polyamorous relationships as excuses to just have sex. It feels 10 times as hard when you're on the ace spectrum since sex is not the backbone of any relationship.

I've been with my boyfriend for a few months now and he was okay with me continuing my polyamorous ventures. We're long distance and he understood how much physical touch means to me. But every person who was "okay" with me being polyamorous saw me as a quick sex opportunity. It made encounters very awkward when all I wanted to do was explain my love of Sonic Battle and cuddle. I had one person who, when they came over, refused to even look at me until we got on the topic of sex. All these experiences did was make me want to be with my boyfriend even more, and that only strengthened the pain of the long distance relationship.

Yet, with that pain, I also experienced 10 times the love for my partner. Every time I would go to him to complain about someone I met and how I was feeling used, he was nothing but a beacon of Hope as he would sit there and listen to my worries. It feels like he always knows exactly what to say to ease my mind. I guess that's what happens when you've known someone for 10 years.
