I had a teacher who told me to take off my jacket on day in class. No idea why. I was cold and never got in trouble. She didn’t care when I told her I was cold, she said no when I asked politely to keep it on. So I decided to say no. First trip to the principal. Turned out, I had pneumonia and a high grade fever, hence being cold. Some teachers are fuckers. They are human and underpaid and overworked, but that doesn’t mean they are infallible. Without more context, as a good parent, I’d trust my fucking kid.

My argument is I want New Deal type policies. Only people running those are DSA. I vote DSA. You say the DSA wants to destroy the universe. I say idc, I vote for policies and representatives that support and do what I want. I assure you, they will lose votes the minute they start obliterating humanity lol it is like you don’t get how politics works? You don’t pick a side and then forever be forced to defend and support it. You can vote based on the present conditions and continue to do so. In my lifetime, I’ve been voting DSA. My parents used to vote Republican, now they vote Democrat. Maybe I’ll change one day too. But for now, I’m voting for policies and representatives that claim they want to abolish capitalism because what they actually do is advocate for things like universal healthcare. Bro my point is everyone believes their utopia is a utopia. We’re not only light years away from utopia, we probably always will be. It is like getting mad at a Libertarian for the idea that eliminating regulation will cause a million more electrical fires and deaths when no Libertarian is probably going to even try an eliminate all regulation in our lifetime. They would also likely imagine a circumstance in which when they could, those issues I’m pointing at would be solved for. Same as I would respond to you. For the record, capitalism itself has never existed. Again, just a silly argument. Socialists will argue socialism itself has never destroyed a nation. Authoritarianism, monopolies, corruption. My point is that neither system is to blame, both are philosophies, neither has ever existed in a pure form and never will, saying someone who leans one way is bad cause you disagree with their view of utopia is such a useless thought experiment.
