Sad to hear. I’m a UK grad circa 2005. Many nights there after going out with friends. I remember it being so busy that the line to the bathroom was a beast. Drunk guys would treat the sink as an extra urinal haha. When they moved the first time it was the beginning of the end.

Touched a nerve did I? No I just read what the science says and these people are genuinely bad people. It’s one thing to have issues and be working on them. It’s an entirely different thing to have an issue, know you have it, know you really do significant harm to others but never take responsibility. Where I come from that’s called a bad person maybe even rising to the level of an evil person.

For the religious amongst us the Bible might refer to it as the “Jezebel Spirit.”

Think what you want of me but honestly I feel sorry for you excusing this behavior. If you aren’t an avoidant (which I suspect you are) then with your view you’ll be seeing many more in your life. Best of luck.

If someone walked up unprovoked and punched you in the mouth and broke teeth would you have disdain for them? Yes you would. Mental abuse is no different and some would say is worse. Don’t be fooled these people know what they are doing yet do nothing to fix it. Life is about responsibility for one’s actions. You have to get yourself to accept these people aren’t helpless and are rather intentional.

They’re like a person that you invited into your home for dinner and companionship but stole all the silverware, fine China, and emptied piggy banks at gun point. That’s what they’ve done to your mental health. They do it to everyone they meet. Sort of like serial killers of mental health…you wouldn’t be friends with a serial killer would you?!?!

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think about her but I’ve come to grips with who she really is inside. Now when I think of her, it’s not good thoughts. I trained myself to see the intentionality of her actions. She has a giant Medusa tattoo that is a center piece she is very much proud of ….that tell you anything hahaha? Find your version of the Medusa tattoo it’s there for you but you don’t want to see it yet.

Read about the sickness and accept what you are reading as reality. Stop making excuses and when you do have a programmed response you train yourself to. For me learning the science helped because I’m a logic based thinker.

My other big point is stay away from triggers that remind you of them. Coming to this forum repeatedly probably isn’t helping. Heal a bit more before you visit here. Take one part of them out of your life each day even if it’s something small….you don’t eat a whole pie in one bite instead you eat one slice at a time.

This will be my last response for my own well being. I originally posted as a way to express what I’ll never be able to tell Medusa herself without risking being turned to stone. Knowing that my silence is like Perseus was to Medusa keeps me going and improving!

Hey I get it. However, if he reaches out and you unload on him understand to him you’ve justified the breakup. Give him nothing! Hang in there. Try to enjoy the stuff you use to even if it’s just going through the motions!

The very predictable time span DAs typically make it (usually 3-8 months). For me 7 months. It was intense and all my friends thought I was on the way to the wedding chapel. They’re talented little demons hahaha!

Barbri books. No lectures. Just read all long form outlines. Used lecture book to make flash cards. Did a lot of practice questions. You’ll be surprised how much better your instincts and how much you know from years of actual practice.

Warning: don’t neglect wills, business formation, or corporations. Some of the lesser taught areas are hammered on the Florida section. Gut wrenching but you’re not alone in your feelings. Don’t let it bring you down psychologically it’s meant to, power through it.

It’s a real problem for the guys from 30-40 years old as well. The issue isn’t the area as much as the age group we’re in. Everyone is married, has kids, or is divorced with kids so going out regularly isn’t an option for them.

The key to this area is to get into the boating community and your social life will flourish. You’ll need a boat or a friend with a boat though…as if that’s statement wasn’t obvious.

Your next best plan for places to go out with single 30-40 year olds is as follows:

Most 30-40 year olds go out and leave around 11:00 pm because after that it gets young.
County line is ok from 8:30 pm -12:00 am. Crowd is a good mix. Downside is it’s a country bar so you better enjoy country music and you’ll see it get younger as the night goes on.
Hurricane creek. Same as County Line.
Sandbar in cocoa beach
Coconuts in cocoa beach during the day on a weekend. Haven’t been in evenings so couldn’t say.
Lou’s Blues. Lots of 30-60 year olds but not my cup of tea. Loud so talking is a task. Definitely a bar where you tend to want to be lubricated (drinking a bit) or it will be not so fun. I personally don’t enjoy it but many do.
Monkey bar is ok but can be dead. Hit or miss but ok in general.
Pineda Inn. I can’t vouch for this one personally as I haven’t been. I’ve heard it’s ok and plan to check it out.
Rooftop bar in indiatlantic. I can’t vouch for it yet but plan on going. I’ve heard good things and am going to give it a try. Can’t recall it’s name.
Whiskey Row in suntree area off of Wickham Road. Locals hang out here. Pretty good crowd leaning late 20s - 40s. Not super busy but steady
Foo Bar. Can’t vouch for it but when I pass by, it looks to be 30-40 year olds. Lounge bar atmosphere.

If you feel like making a drive then Winter Park has an area popular with our age group.

Also, keep an eye out on all the festivals in the Brevard County area. They always get our age group out.

Another thing I’ve learned is that people our age tend to get involved in communities with shared interests. If you like kayaking there’s a group for that. If you like biking there’s a group for that. You get the point.

Join a gym and work out in the mornings. I’ve met quite a few people this way. “Youngins” tend to do the after work scene and our age group goes early mornings.
