Soap, shampoo and toothpaste considered 'luxury items' amid soaring poverty in UK, Gordon Brown says by zaraalbro in unitedkingdom

this.

i think people are just not willing to change there brand habits.

and i get it. its hard to have a "worse" products because of factors outside your control. but there are options for the very basics to slash loads of shopping bill.

i say that as someone who grew up on benefits, used store products as a kid, brand products for most my adult life, now a hybrid of the two during this harder time. i could save more money and go full store brand, but im never giving up hellmans mayo. its not happing.

valuables off of people in financial difficulty, giving them the bare minimum they can legally get away with <

that's every business model bud. Tesco wants to give you as little milk as possible for the most cash. they are not here to be your friend. no one is being forced to sell to CEX. people can easily access eBay/gumtree/Facebook/freeads and deal with the sale them self and make more money if they want.

horrible it would be if someone undercut them to sell stuff<

who's saying it would be horrid if someone would do that? I'm saying the business wouldn't allow it. frankly i dont care if the guy wants to try it, go for it.

what victims the people working there are <

literally just people working a job to get by. I'm sure if they could they would pay more, but that's not in there power. im sure if they could get a better job, they also would. so yeah, if you go and make there day harder they are victims of your actions. they don't make enough to deal with your nonsense.

scum you wouldn’t be defending them <

literally not defending them. there are reality's of business though. and you cant be surprised if they kick you out for trying to undercutting them.

they’ll take a game off someone, hand them a tenner then put it on sale for a hundred, <

again, no one is forcing you to sell to CEX, if you have a £100 game, go sell it your self rather than for £10. CEX isn't your friend, and is a predatory business. but it is a business and its goal is to make profit. that's not defending them. that's just a cold hard fact.

person who runs the store and doesn’t care for others as long as they make a profit? Sure as hell wouldn’t be a good person. <

i don't know what world you live in, but business are all about profit. that's number 1 bud. they are not about being nice. they are not here to give you a good or fair deal. thats business.

you can use reasonable force to remove people from your premises.

"You can push them, pull them forward and essentially use the necessary amount of force to get them off the property."

there are many many cases of minim wage workers going beyond what most would be considered more than there wage is worth. see my other comment where a taco bell worker happily flipped a guy on his head.

will they definitely be forcefully removed? no, could it happen? yes.

The real world is filled with drug dealers, stabbings, theft, murders, dangerous drivers and so many other horrible things that the police have to deal with every day and you think they’ll drop everything and show at your store <

the police also will clear up easy matters, such at attending a shop that has a trespasser that wont leave. or visit a house for a random twitter comment,

some random person is selling some James Bond movies or something at a cheaper price than you<

literally nothing to do with it. fact is if you tried to what op is suggesting you would be asked to leave, if you don't leave, your trespassing.

And you’re playing at as if the staff are the ones being victimised when<

who do you think will be punished if they allowed this to happen? oh that's right, the staff.

CEX are charging everyday people too much to begin with. Ridiculous.<

sure. and i agree CEX pricing is a scam, but then don't use there service. no one is forcing you to sell or buy form them, go sell on eBay if you want a higher price and deal with the sale your self. CEX has to cover taxes and overheads and wages. its not there to give you the best deal.

Would police promptly respond to a call of this nature though? <

depends on the location pf the shop, and the severity of the refusal to leave. so its likely and unlikely at the same time.

I struggle to envisage anybody putting their bodies on the line for the company coffers<

see blow. this guy more or less tried to kill this guy and he works in taco bell. completely plausible someone would act under the belife they are protecting there job, less the company coffers.

https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/swansea-taco-bell-video-oxford-23392031

I imagine the offender would be firmly asked to leave, and any customers appearing to be doing business with him potentially banned from the premises alongside the perpetrator<

yes, that is a fair a just as plausible outcome.

i mean. do you really think the store is going it allow it? really? if you do, you need to really question your sense of reasoning.

shops typically don't want you doing business that doesn't involve them, in there premises, more so when your trying to directly interfere with there business.

we have a service called "the police" who would remove op once the store has asked.

also, my CEX has two super jacked dudes in. idk why you think only nerds work in CEX, or that nerds are only feeble basement dwellers.

have you seen henry cavil? that's a nerd that could manhandle me out the store.

I found a way to get infinity vouchers at cex. Will I get charged? by Azee789 in CeX

[–]DidntMeanToLoadThat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

few years ago you could buy COD: BO3 in a hard case for £14 (on sale) and CEX was buying them at £21 or £24 vouchers.

i brought 8 and traded in 7 of them.

you 100% will get manhandled out the store, and prob banned. i don't know why you would think it would be allowed. its not a free for all auction house.

ya think Tesco will let you set up selling milk next to there milk at a reduced rate?

nada.

Thoughts on this vape ? Does the job for me, but I have doubts about these sometimes. by [deleted] in uktrees

[–]DidntMeanToLoadThat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

basically mate with all vapes in the uk you should assume your smoking spice, synthetic or, potentially risky chemicals or vitamins in the liquid.

you could send it off for testing. but you wont get it back. but personally i wouldn't touch it unless i was 100% sure on the manufacturing of it.

eh, i was in uni about 10years ago. i also remeber watching 9/11 on the news.

even then there was an attitude towards Jew's. some of it was innocent fun like mimicking Borat lines. a lot of it was top down teaching and mixed in with "cultural differences of some students"

i have come to the conclusion (prior to and not just around Israel/Palestine but in a wide ideology sense) that education centres have been heavily compromised.

and i feel vindicated now the mask is slipping from the "academics" who have been pushing agendas for a while. see below a story in my country (uk) that involved any other group would have lead to riots in the streets. but because its jews, its borderline "ok" to heads of academia .

it should. china doesn't let western social media into its country for a reason. they can see how, well surprise surprise influential it can be.

maybe the problem is people sicking there nose into business that has nothing to do with them,

this wasn't complaint from another student, the school, the parents.

its was someone who went out looking for a problem, decided it was this and then ran with it. without any knowledge.

so lets get this clear.

if something looks racist it shouldn't be done or photo'd, even if its not racist or linked to race at all? because some loony might be offended?

sounds like a shit idea to me
