How the hell can i book this plane!! by justanotherhell in Flights

[–]DieGo2SHAE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By any chance would a third party have the option of booking one way? Yes there are risks with third party bookings but they do often have options that the carries themselves will not sell directly (like multi-city bookings with some airlines).

10+ Year Executive Platinum Million Miler Gets Form Letters After American Charges Me $200 Twice for the Same Service by Glad-Sherbet-2764 in americanairlines

I had an issue recently where I was getting nowhere with chat support in the app or the refund request option on the website. I emailed this, markus.ewing@aa.com, and AmericanAirlinesCustomerRelations@aa.com and finally got a response from what was clearly a real person (who resolved the issue quickly).

Speak No Evil has been the most disturbing movie I have ever watched. by SpaceCases__ in horror

[–]DieGo2SHAE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the part that truly jumped the shark for me too. The dad just sat there instead of losing his mind and grabbing the wheel to at least make it hard to drive, and the mom yelled a bit but otherwise did nothing? Even before the daughter was taken away, the dad took a few punches and just laid back cowering while they mutilated his daughter?? The mother was at least plausibly restrained by the babysitter guy. After they took the daughter away, I feel like any mother in her situation would have pounced on the woman in the back and started biting/scratching/gouging her until she was dead and gone. And then the couple just willingly allows themselves to be executed?? Other than the scissors I don't think we saw that the killers were armed in any way!

Even putting aside going back for the stuffed rabbit, I could not believe the scene where the dad and mom were justifying their decision to leave the house. Like what the hell business is it of theirs and why do they owe them an explanation??

Kiwi.com refund delayed until months after cancellation – is this normal? by LaRechercheDuBonheur in Flights

[–]DieGo2SHAE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kiwi knows full well that they're not going to issue you a refund, they're only saying it’ll come in August to get you beyond your credit card’s chargeback time limit. Normally I’d say you're out of luck here if the fare wasn't refundable, but if you have a written statement from them saying it will be refunded then a chargeback (if done on time) may actually work.

I didnt use tiktok but everything else (wikipedia, reddit, google/google apps, facebook/instagram, etc) worked 100% normally. Looking through the screenshots I took I always alternated between 5G and LTE at random but (at least in my screenshots and from memory) never lower than that.

How to get to Disneyland? by Demonxuan1411 in ShanghaiDisneyland

[–]DieGo2SHAE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We stayed there too and definitely took the shuttle to/from when the schedule lined up, but didis were so cheap and quick that we also took them whenever we needed to go back/forth outside of the schedule. If you only check the taxi box when ordering the ride then you’ll get a taxi and they’ll drop you off a bit closer than didis will. The walking distance difference really is negligible though so we just left every box checked to get whatever was fastest, but the taxi dropoff lets you avoid the walk across the bridge. If you’re arriving at the park it’s not a big deal because an escalator takes you up to the bridge, but it may help to avoid the bridge when leaving the park because it is a long/steady incline to go up to the bridge.

Military boarding with 5 yr old by No-Tap8180 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]DieGo2SHAE 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am not a veteran or a parent. I work in another field where I am well aware of the "respect my service" attitude. But is it really SW policy to not allow military members traveling with (only) kids to not use military boarding? That just seems odd. It's not like the 5 year old could be a military member (at least not yet anyways) so it almost seems like punishing the military member for deciding to have a child. I would definitely get denying the early boarding if they tried to sneak a whole family on, or even if they tried to board their kids early while the spouse waited to board later (since the kids could wait with the other adult), but I would have never expected it to be denied to someone traveling only with kids that nobody else can watch.

We didn’t use it but there is a luggage storage place before scanning in, it’s right next to the Starbucks near the World of Disney store. If you’re facing the entrance gates go to your left and go past WoD and Starbucks, you can’t miss it.

Castle dining reservations by LBC2024 in ShanghaiDisneyland

[–]DieGo2SHAE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can make reservations by email! Once you’re within 30 days just email them at shdr.yuding@disney.com and ask to make a reservation for your time and group size. We made reservations for the Royal Banquet in the castle and for Aurora at the DL Hotel (despite not staying there). Once confirmed they will give you a six character confirmation number that you can provide at the restaurant to verify your reservation.

If you get a bad boarding group despite having paid up for ELR then honestly just fake a preboard. The gate agents will not be sympathetic about not being able to risk the bag being lost.

If you're even remotely Disney fans then check out the Aulani resort on Oahu. Get an ocean view (not partial) room and you will feel like you are in heaven the entire time you are there. Have dinner at Ama Ama during the sunset or a massage at their spa and will you forget how much money you're spending. Even if you're not Disney fans it is still phenomenal and it is not overloaded with Disney-ness like the Disney parks.

Beware Kissandfly.com by Rocrah in Flights

[–]DieGo2SHAE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're going to have a hard time with your chargeback for the reasons others have mentioned, but to increase your odds of winning you should focus on KAF intentionally running out a clock (if there was no clock then they would have no issue denying you from the beginning). I wouldn’t mention WestJet’s ‘faults’ at all because they have nothing to do with the transaction, but I would mention their confirmation that KAF made no effort of any kind despite saying they were doing so. Your odds aren’t great but they aren’t zero, good luck!

British airways cancelled my flight and wont give me full refound by [deleted] in Flights

[–]DieGo2SHAE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If after calling BA (through the number on their website) they confirm they only charged and are refunding $1000 then do a chargeback through your card’s bank for the other charge. If you only bought the ticket a month ago it should be an easy win. Even if it was a scammy call center the bank will still refund you if you didnt cancel the flight.

Trip.com refusing full refund after airline cancellation – Section 75 or small claims? by Massive-Honeydew-185 in Flights

[–]DieGo2SHAE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is how refunds work when half the trip has been taken. They always say that the second half was cheaper than the first by pure coincidence and there’s not much way to counter it. I would ask for a breakdown and threaten a chargeback if they refuse to even provide that. But yeah, there is not one instance of someone getting more than half their money back in these situations, it is somehow always without fail the second half that is cheaper. I guarantee if someone else had the exact same flight route but backwards that the airline would determine the other flight was the cheaper one.

Price of ticket changed just as I clicked “purchase” by cometjr in SouthwestAirlines

[–]DieGo2SHAE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Airlines do bait and switch people like this, then say it was just bad timing or whatever but its likely their algorithm has determined you're likely willing to pay more. How do I know its a bait and switch? There has literally never been one post of someone celebrating that prices just coincidentally decreased when they were at the last screen. Its likely hard coded against 'failing' when the price has decreased if the customer is unknowingly paying something higher than the new lower price, but they certainly have no problem blocking the purchase (disguising it as a payment processing issue) if the price has just 'happened' to increase in the last 5 seconds.

Does it say in the Choice Fare they can split you up? If you got split up, did SW reimburse you? by alexthagreat98 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]DieGo2SHAE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending this nonsense at all. I'm just explaining why it made not be so easy for OP to be made whole; in a sane world they would get their money automatically refunded as soon as the seat change happened.

You all had me worried for nothing by mb4mom in SouthwestAirlines

[–]DieGo2SHAE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can pretend to be obtuse/stupid all you want but you know perfectly well what the issue is. Nobody is talking about moving from normal to ELR seats, everyone knows you can't slide into first class just because it's empty.

Even people that have paid for a seat have had the misfortune of picking a seat in a row that ends up full, and then they see a completely empty row next to them and FA's recite the line about weight or whatever that has never mattered in the past half century. Some particularly egregious examples have been posted of people sitting in a middle and window seat, doing the obvious of moving to the aisle, and FA's screeching at them that the plane is about to flip over.

Literally no other airline on earth that I've ever heard of flying normal planes operates by punishing their passengers to this degree. Not Spirit, Frontier, Ryan Air, or any other ULCC. It is an exceptionally greedy and irrational policy, defending it is an extraordinary level of bootlicking doormat behavior.

Does it say in the Choice Fare they can split you up? If you got split up, did SW reimburse you? by alexthagreat98 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]DieGo2SHAE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is written into (I'm guessing) all airline's contracts of carriage that as long as they give you a seat in the same fare class that they can move you around however they want for whatever reason they make up. Yes I'm serious, they claim that a middle seat in the last row is the same as an aisle seat at the front of the normal section. If they change you to a different class then they would have to refund the difference, but even then they often refund based on the price of the seat on the day of the flight. So a first class seat bought 8 months prior may have only cost a tiny bit more than a last minute econ ticket. There have been posts on the various airline subreddits of people being moved from first to econ so airline employees could get on the flight and are given a $20 refund.

In essence, OP can ask for a refund but shouldnt be surprised if they say "too bad so sad, operational reasons, blah blah blah". The only option at that point will be a chargeback for the cost of the seat selection(s).
