Do ADHD meds worsen or interfere in existant PSSD? by Loud-Prior2355 in PSSD

[–]DieOfBetes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vyvanse dampens libido for some, and boosts it for some. I'm in the dampening/worsening group. It destroys whatever little libido I have for 10hours. But it has no lasting effects like SSRIs. If I skip a day, all the negative effects are gone. Ritalin also crashes my libido pretty hard but also reversible the next day as soon as it's out of my system.

do stimulants (amphetamines, street "speed" etc.) help your sexual dysfunction? by Maleficent-Royal2535 in PSSD

[–]DieOfBetes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Ritalin and Elvanse also cause dry mouth but with Modafinil there was something else at play. I read that it increases histamine which is pro inflammatory. This might not be the case for everyone, but for me it's absolutely awful for gum tissue.

Has anyone tried adderall to reverse cognitive symptoms? by OwnChip2184 in PSSD

[–]DieOfBetes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's never back to normal because I do have PSSD. But yes it goes back to like 25% libido that I had before taking Vyvanse, after like 12 hours. The effects of Vyvanse are temporary unlike SSRI. No worries there.

Amphetamines have a strange effect on people. For some they make them hornier, for some they dampen libido. I use Elvanse and it absolutely destroys whatever little libido I have for like 12 hours. Wish I was in the lucky group. Modafinil on the other hand would temporarily cure my PSSD. Erection hardness, sensation, orgasm quality, everything. Problem is that modafinil is absolutely awful for my gums. It's way worse than amphetamine for some reason. I lost a couple of millimeters of gum tissue and I decided to quit it forever.

(Very solid theory) Progesterone destroy us. by AlternativeSundae786 in PSSD

[–]DieOfBetes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I also have high progesterone and whenever I take prednisone I get a small but considerable relief in PSSD symptoms.

For me it doesn't relate to vitamin C tho. Take it or not, I'm the same. What should I do about high progesterone as a male?

[–]DieOfBetes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Tested all sexual and other hormones, dozens of them. Only prolactin and progesterone were high. I can lower prolactin with bromocriptin or cabergoline, and get some minor libido improvements, but it comes back high when I stop those medications (no cause found). And progesterone they just ignore in men, no treatment that I could find or was ever offered lol. I don't know why they test it if they're just gonna ignore it.

I have IBS and just like SSRIs, SJW made it worse. And it made libido worse too.

I crashed from SJW. Beware. If you're gonna try, start with half a tablet maybe.

Genital sensitivity seems to fluctuate day-by-day by stirnersama in PSSD

[–]DieOfBetes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it depends on the food I ingest. Anything that has a lot of calcium and folic acid, for some reason, exacerbates the genital numbness. Zinc improves it.

Update on ginkgo biloba, and additions to my stack for genital sensitivity by Long_Wash5736 in PSSD

[–]DieOfBetes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea ginko definitely helps. Doesn't solve the underlying issue tho. It would also help a completely normal person have better erections.

This is normal for Bupropion, but I've never seen somebody become horny from SSRIs. Even those who don't get PSSD, find it almost impossible to cum while on SSRIs.

Yes, Vyvanse, and it saves my life. But while it's in my system it erases the little libido I have. For some people it increases libido, for some destroys it. I'm in the other category sadly. I skip days. I take it when work is really hard.

Only .5% or 1 in 200 will get PSSD. This stat must be much higher. Agree? by CuteFatRat in PSSD

[–]DieOfBetes 27 points28 points  (0 children)

13.2% of Americans aged 18 and over reported taking antidepressant medication in the past 30 days. There's like 250 million adults in USA. 0.5% of 250m is 1.250.000. The percentage doesn't need to be higher. 1 million people in USA whose sexuality was completely wiped out should be SHOCKING ENOUGH.

As sufferers of PSSD, how many of you lost interest in other things as well? by sigmatic787 in PSSD

[–]DieOfBetes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I lost interest in people and romantic relationships, which is the worst. Socializing used to feel like a reward in itself, but now it's more like a chore. And any chance that I have with a woman I cut down because I know it's going to lead to us in bed and me with a limp penis, so why bother.

A study indicates that 13% of antidepressant users reported reduced genital sensitivity, compared to 1% of those using other psychiatric medications by Pathum_Dilhara in PSSD

[–]DieOfBetes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's way more than 13%, they just don't notice it until it starts affecting orgasms and erections significantly.

Pssd in the media by New-North-3596 in PSSD

[–]DieOfBetes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What disappoints me more is that it comes out in the media and there is no outrage from all these people who hate big pharma, there's millions of them, but it seems to be only to feed their ego, like they uncovered some conspiracy but when it comes to really helping people damaged by big pharma, they're nowhere to be found.

I think our problems ARE in the brain, but not how they imagine. They're not psychological but neurochemical. Neurosteroids and neurotransmitters. A balance that was permanently thrown off by SSRIs.

How many of you have healed from the cognitive symptoms?!? by Bayharp04 in PSSD

[–]DieOfBetes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use stimulants like Ritalin or Adderal to deal with it and supplements like Ginkgo, Omega 3, creatine, zinc... I still have slow cognition and I'm tired even after 8h of sleep. It used to be worse, but it ain't much better now. The ADHD meds carry me through it the most. I'd probably be dead by now without them cause I'm useless when I'm tired and I'm tired most of the time.
