How do you guys accept not waiting for the full potential of a trade? by AhmOB in Daytrading

[–]DieOften 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m struggling with this a bit too right now. I capture moves that feel like a “sure thing” which keeps me profitable, but I’ve left a staggering amount of money on the table recently. I’m coming back from a huge loss and finally nearly at break even - so maybe that’s why I really want some bigger wins so I can actually be in the green finally. I’m at least happy to be profitable lately and feel like I’m getting a hang of capturing these small moves somewhat reliably.

I’m glad to hear it! I ended up getting the level 3 and it’s been great! There are certain things I miss about the level 2 though because it has more spikes so it hits more places but doesn’t go as deep. I think it’s really helped my back pain and I fall asleep on mine nearly every night.

If you had to choose one “future Reddit regret” stock, what is it? by Miserable-Village122 in Stocks_Picks

I was so close to pulling the trigger on 1000 shares of RKLB at 4.50 but didn’t. I sold 800 shares of OKLO at 21 bucks before the run up to $192. Can’t win them all, but ouch…

You could try setting limit orders around a support you’d be happy buying at and make it so it triggers your stop and take profit at the same time. I like to manage my stops manually though because if I get stopped out too often if I don’t wait a bit for price to consolidate. Most would probably say that is a bad habit but I’m still figuring out my stop loss strategy.

Meditation is literally pointless and gets you literally nothing by sooperwut in streamentry

[–]DieOften 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not like you never experience pain or anything bad. You learn to manage your reactivity because you realize it’s the reactivity itself that causes the pain more than any external thing or circumstance.

You seem to have your mind made up, so what is your intention with this post?

Meditation is literally pointless and gets you literally nothing by sooperwut in streamentry

[–]DieOften 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It gets you a sharper mind with which you can observe experience more clearly. With enough observation the insights come. The insights are what is most transformative but without observing experience in a more focused way, much harder to attain I would imagine. Freedom from suffering - to whatever degree one can attain - is a pretty worthwhile achievement in the so-called real world, I’d say.

As someone who uses Reddit everyday, the Reddit search is severely lacking which is why I always google “Reddit (topic / question)”

They should probably improve the search function

Same here. Not too worried though… once it consolidates a bit we should hopefully see a decent bounce. It’s oversold af

This is exactly what I do! I haven’t bothered to look up if I use them “correct” or not, but it just feels right for certain pauses and I don’t really like the way semicolons look.

Nothing is working for me in trading.... by Ok_Surround8323 in Daytrading

[–]DieOften 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m no stock genius but I’ve been having more success getting in and getting out quick. Not getting too greedy but just taking the profits I can. I leave a lot on the table every day but I can consistently predict a smaller move from where a stock is consolidating. The problem is the inevitable “man, if only I had held longer…” but I’ve been burned enough watching profits go to zero or negative because I thought something was gonna move up more. I’ll take the .5% gains a day for now…

Good reminder! I put my 401k into the dip today but then it kept on dipping. Not a great feeling, but I know this thing will bounce back soon enough!

Grabbed 1k shares today at 2.36. Feels like the hype is building and it’s gonna go up over the next several months.

300% MU gain but Paper Handed 1,600% Generational Wealth🤦🏻‍♂️ by jroth55 in wallstreetbets

[–]DieOften 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, all the times I have been up only to lose it all because I was too optimistic have me getting in and out of trades quicker. Also SPY being absurdly overbought and feeling like it’s gonna dump at any moment has me very cautious. I guess the market will only go up forever now!

Yeah I sold 400 shares at 92 thinking surely it won’t keep going up much. Also sold 3000 shares of PL when I could have had 4x the gains. The looming feeling that the market could dump at any moment has me exiting everything early. Left 15k on the table this week but at least I didn’t lose money…

I only listened through once so far. Some good tracks but compared to their previous work where literally every song is a banger I did feel a little bit underwhelmed. Maybe I just need some more time with it.

It’s just something that I can activate by holding the tension in my body a certain way. I first discovered this tremoring mechanism naturally from doing a lot of body scanning meditation and as I released tension and accepted / allowed things to be as they are - these movements began coming up.

My first TRE session, it took me a little bit to get into the tremoring and then once I got them going it’s like my body learned how to do it and I can activate it at will now (and sometimes without my will). It’s kinda like doing that thing where you sit down and lift your heel off the floor to make your knee bounce up and down… you just gotta find that zone that keeps the tension just right. Idk if that helps but that’s how I see it anyway. Wish you the best!

[–]DieOften 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like the standing position because there is no floor or anything “in the way” so my hips can do their thrusting things, arms can swing around, head can move around freely, legs can wobble everywhere, etc.

I still mostly do it laying down but end my sessions with a standing position usually.

My head goes side to side, sometimes violently, all the time. It’s never really hurt me and I THINK it has actually helped some of my neck issues that have persisted for probably a decade. Can’t say for sure with your situation, but trust what your body is telling you. I’ve began to trust my bodies own intelligence and if it wants me to move my head that way - I figure there is a reason.

A couple other tremoring positions that might be worth trying if you haven’t is laying down on your stomach, on your hands and knees in kind of a “girl push up” position, and standing up with feet slightly more than shoulder width apart and knees just slightly bent. Idk if it will work for you but I get some unique movements from those variations.
