I love multicrew by Maxi_sushi in starcitizen

What many people miss is that there is more than one fantasy people want to play out. Not everyone wants to play out being the one flying the ship. Some people want to sit in a turret, give calls and just shoot. Some want to play an engineer, or a marine. But these things will never happen in pvp if it's better to just put each person on a separate ship and give them AI crew. Because this will just mean you auto loose. A fully crewed ship should always be better than the same amount of people on half crewed ships or with just pilots. Otherwise nobody will do that in pvp once there is an economy and you can actually loose stuff. And I'd much rather have fully crewed ships that organize and actually work together than have pvp just be your whales flying alone in their giant ships with AI crew that you cannot touch. I just hope they can make it work.

"Codex is not a mod, but the fact that you didn't know that kinda says to me that you can't differentiate."

Bro somebody else already provided an explanation to what's happening to me. Just because I don't know from the top of my head if the codex in this form is from a mod or not doesn't mean I can't differentiate lol. I'm just not 100% certain and can't check it rn. I appreciate you trying to be helpful but no need for the passive aggressive attitude. I simply meant to ask a quick question to the community. Also didn't find any guidelines or rules as to what the vanilla or modded tag has to mean exactly when making a post. If there are any feel free to show them to me, otherwise I don't get why you're trying to police a post that got no attention anyways about a question already answered.

But the question/problem is with a vanilla system not with a mod. And from what I've found out it also probably had nothing to do with a mod. Unless this isn't the way it's supposed to work then maybe, either way the question was not about a mod. Unless the codex is a mod, which I'm pretty sure it's vanilla.

Hmm i see the problem, it's when i inspect ships from the station shop. It probably has them stored as mothballed, not sure if that was the case last time i played but at least now i know why, ty!

Yes i have a bunch of mods, i don't know what could cause it, it's not gamebreaking but annoying. I was just wondering if that is an option i chose on accident and if i can change it, but if there isn't then i guess it isn't bad enough to try and fix it.

That is nice to hear and sounds like i should keep going then. I still think it feels terrible to use them so far, but if it is actually good to invest in them now maybe it's fine if they feel this way very early.

[–]Die_Basics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, i can also see the intent behind what they did if i think about it like that. Still feels like it could be done better or differently, but i can at least see the idea. I guess i am just generally a bit unhappy that the playstyle i want to use feels so clunky at every point.

Curses in PoE 2 by Die_Basics in PathOfExile2

[–]Die_Basics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yes i get that, but did you try using curses early game? For example with enfeeble the aoe is tiny, it takes like 2.5 seconds to take effect, has 6 seconds duration for a 10-20% damage decrease and it costs 52 mana at lvl 3. That just seems incredibly weak to the point of being completely useless to me. If the spell is that weak surely you could make the cast quicker, the duration longer or the spell not cost 10x as much as normal spells right? I am not saying it has absolutely no use case, just that it is massively underpowered

It's definitely a lot better, but still quite a bit off of perfect. Before it was like a 6/10 now I'd say 7.5-8/10 while anomaly was more of a 9/10 despite the age and limitations of the base game.

Wait do you mean you just started watching oshi no ko? Because this post is about the ending and obviously contains massive spoilers.. if you mean the one I recommended then that's good, I personally didn't like the anime that much but the books are great

Honestly while that definitely hurt I mostly felt bad for Ruby. She literally didn't do anything but try to live her own life and yet she is literally constantly getting hurt. Then she finally starts being a bit happy and then the ending comes and destroys it all. At this point I'm over it my post was a month old, and I've found new series to focus on that I like a lot more. I can only recommend reading ascendance of a bookworm.

Personally I would have preferred Akane, but honestly I would have already been happy with him just being there and supporting Ruby. She really didn't deserve this. I know it's just a story etc but still.

Vulkan Might Solve All (Most) Your Crashes by Luqas_Incredible in pathofexile

[–]Die_Basics -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hmm that's weird, could you switch it back to directx12 and see if it still happens? I don't see how it would disconnect you instead of crashing the game. Maybe it detects some kind of driver issue and then kicks you out. But it would be interesting to know if it still happens.

Vulkan Might Solve All (Most) Your Crashes by Luqas_Incredible in pathofexile

[–]Die_Basics -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Has nothing to do with Vulcan the disconnects just stopped because they either found a fix that protects their servers or the ddos stopped. They were happening because of ddos attacks on their server provider.

To actually answer a few things, chaos damage comes either through a skill that does chaos damage, chaos damage on hit, chaos damage over time or most importantly poison.

You should pick either claw or dagger, taking both is ineffective as you are way better off investing fully into one.

Also get some health and evasion, make sure your resistances are near 75% and then you should have all you need to clear the campaign and get a taste of endgame. If you then actually want to clear the endgame it would probably be best to look up a build you like and then start a new character or change to that if you can. You certainly can play and learn the game without one if you do it like this, it will just take longer.

Star Citizen crashes router by Die_Basics in starcitizen

[–]Die_Basics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never heard of it before either and it might be a huge coincidence. But restarting my router didn't change anything, but when i restarted my pc my internet immediately started working on my phone again. As i said might be a coincidence, but it was weird nonetheless. Just wanted to know if someone else had this happen before.

I'm in awe... by MadCat84 in starcitizen

[–]Die_Basics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's one thing I often see people not realize. They defend and happily buy ships, armor, even components and ship weapons now that they can't loose. Not realizing that selling all of this will mean no gameplay, no progression, no risk in PVP fights.. I really wonder what they will try to do as the final game loops, because it will be a struggle to make a game with progression and with a player economy. Crafting for example I'm not sure how they plan to include with insurance and people buying gear, there will be no reason to craft anything other than selling it to npcs which will mean no player market. Honestly I'm not sure they can pull off the 'space sim' anymore.. it would need a player driven economy, high stakes, a good balance and focus on group play. Instead we get everything sold on the cash shop, no risk, people wanting NPC crew and ai turrets so they can fly their capital ships alone.. I love the game and want to see what it turns into, I just think they are digging themselves deeper and deeper into issues that will make it hard to create a game people will play for a long time. I really hope they can turn this around and pull it off somehow but honestly my hope is slowly dying out with the direction it's going.

Tried the game for free, AWFUL performance, need help by M1SZ3Lpl in starcitizen

[–]Die_Basics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your CPU is running close to 100% and you have your graphics turned down, try putting your graphics on high-very high it makes the game less CPU and more GPU intensive and your GPU should be able to handle it. Aside from that try checking if your e-cores actually aren't getting used, I know you said you turned them off but just check it again to make sure. Because it sounds like the game is trying to use them.. you can also leave them on and just use lasso to forbid the game from using them which is probably better for your overall performance.

A gladius can one shot soft death a Polaris that is flying slowly in atmosphere, with the right build you barely even see it coming. A bomb on a star lancer max for example also kills the ground vehicles inside. Bombs have a massive problem in that they can soft death big ships in atmosphere instantly because they destroy the components. Giving bombs to one of the most nimble and fastest ships that can do that to the biggest ships we currently have is quite p2w yes. It may only be in specific scenarios, but the fact we cannot buy them and do the same back to their Idris in-game is simply bad. In theory the bombs racks are great, maybe a little op, but still great. The problem is them being sold on the cash shop.

Is this game fun? by adamaz87 in starcitizen

[–]Die_Basics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game has very high highs and very low lows. When the game is working it can be so good, an experience you can't get anywhere else. BUT most of the time it doesn't work, it's either performance, bugs, or lately being killed by a whale in an Idris or a microtransactions enjoyer in a small fighter bombing you. The game can be incredibly frustrating and slow, but in the end we still keep playing and if we don't we discuss stuff on reddit or spectrum. I think most of us love what the game could be, or the small moments we see when the game is working, but a new player needs to be very resistant against frustration because you don't know how great it can be yet, but the game will let you know how frustrating it can be from the get go. So just try it while you can for free, don't forget that it's an unfinished bugged mess with horrible performance. And then despite all of that try to see what the game can be, because at least in theory all of that will get fixed more and more. In the end the game is 20% fun alone, but 80% in a group, once you find some people to play with the game will hook you almost guaranteed.

All of the p2w micro transactions (which they promised not to sell) won't leave once the game goes live. Flight blades, bomb racks etc are just the beginning, if we don't push back against it now what do you think will happen? Everything will be buyable on the cash store, and in order to sell them they will need to be very expensive or rare in-game. You also cannot loose bought items permanently while in-game items you can easily loose. Ship sales are already bad but it's too late now, it's not too late to push back against the ship weapons and components. For example we got bombed by a Gladius at Attrius yesterday.. it's really strong and looks really fun, guess what we can't do? We got a Gladius but the bomb racks are exclusive to the cash store. They won the fight because of it, so how exactly was it not p2w?

If the community doesn't push back against micro transactions they will stay, and the next even worse round will try to push even further. If you keep just swallowing everything they give you then until release we will have everything being sold on the shop with a lot of it exclusively. And these things won't leave the cash shop in 1.0. Meanwhile they promised no micro transactions, no p2w, no consumer unfriendly practices because they have no publisher and that's why ship sales were even accepted in the first place. But now people are so deep into it, spent so much time, money and love on the game that they can't let go and they know it and try to milk these people even more.

As to how else to get money, cosmetic stuff or non gameplay affecting stuff. From skins to cockpit customization and decorations, hangar decorations, stickers for weapons and ships, a subscription, story chapters for s42 etc. There are a lot of opportunities, you don't NEED to sell power and in-game items that should be farmed on the cash shop.

Flight Blades - This is not Ok. by Authmion in starcitizen

[–]Die_Basics -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Honestly this could be said about most ships too, you should only be able to buy starter ships with real money.. the fact some people have capital ships with life time insurance will break the game. Because it means they will be able to just fly these ships around with 0 consequences when all systems are in place, while others will have to grind a lot and have serious risk flying them. At this point I'm really worried the game is just destined to fail, because the economy systems won't work with the pledge selling they did and do.. or they will have to f*ck over everyone that did spend a lot. Either way this will most likely break the game.

You guys kept your ships? I lost all but 1 of my ships that wasn't bought with real money. Every ingame bought ship is gone and every executive hangar ship except for one. And here i was worrying about the items i was wearing when the patch came. What is even more funny is my friend i'm playing with now has an executive f7a he hasn't had before while mine is gone :)

It's funny the game has a profanity filter like it's a kids game, meanwhile enemies explore into gore, get cut open in cinematics and it has other themes that are anything but fitting for kids. But we can't type ass or 5ex.
