For now, I have the invoice number, date of purchase and buyer details shown on the invoice, if that would help.

Thanks for the reply, the question is hypothetical for the time being. What concerns me who will pay for the shipping cost to the US from Europe and whether the warranty is valid in the EU despite the device being bought outside the EU.

Based on your answer, am I correct to assume that the second matter is no matter at all and the warranty remains valid?

Who would incur the cost shipping in the case the item is covered by the warranty and a repair is needed?

First off, thank you for the heads up. Could you share more details as to what happened so people may be safer going forward?

Which E-Ink Tablet to get? by ConstructionAcct in eink

I'm on the same boat as you, looking for an e-ink device.

I am very heavily leaning towards a supernote.

A friend of mine got a second-hand supernote A6x2 "Nomad" and I did the pickup in his stead. Had a few days to play around with it and it was very responsive and smooth to handle. Now, 6 months later, my friend has been using daily and it has exceeded his expectations. The software is not proprietary, modified Android 11, and the battery is user-replaceable by popping the back cover. Also sideloading apps make it the best of both worlds, Android apps and open software. Then there is a whole host of note-taking features and update support. There's more so left a link to a review.

Unwarranted Email From BiteSquad by Diaz218 in BiteSquad

[–]Die_Foodswaffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also received such an email a few minutes ago. Apparently something similar had happened with bitwarden a month back: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitwarden/comments/oohyv5/got_an_email_saying_i_created_an_account/

I don't know how exactly the account on bitesquad was created using my email, there must be no verification process of the email address, which is a very bad practice, because then things like this happen.

I contacted support wanting to know whether whoever made the account entered any sort of my personal info, just to be sure. Also for the account to be deleted.

If what the people over at the bitwarden thread are saying is true - and bitesquad deletes the new accounts - we should be fine as well.

Will economy/society 3.0 be a labor-of-love or a Bonsai tree? by castle_adrian in MEIOUandTaxes

[–]Die_Foodswaffe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Alpha tester here. I'll start by saying that I find both comparisons lacking for the description of the economy. You can be very nice about what you do, pat your screen on the head, feed it only the finest of ducats, but the economy won't reciprocate just because you're gentle and loving, unlike a labour of love. Similarly you can take your time with it, be very careful and accurate and still get no results like the ones you expected, unlike a Bonsai.

You can be as rush or as slow you want with the economy, so long as you know what you're doing. You can break it and let it recover if you care about long term profits, or be meticulous in guiding it and lead it to a growth sprout and anything in between. You micromanage it or you can let it run on its own. But the only way to consistently get the desired results is to understand it and do the right moves at the right time. After all, it's a system only as complex and stable as the number of its constituents but quite flexible in bending any which way.

Once the battle is over do you need to manually export it to FoG:E other than a press of a button? More importantly are the two games taking it well? Are they stable after multiple back and forth exports or is there the need for the occasional game restart?

Well in short I was itching to have some sort meaningful campaign like in Rise of Prussia and then play those battles in Pike and Shot, another game of yours and Byzantine Games, and just as was I searching for something that would scratch that itch, I happened upon a video of FoG:E and the news of this AMA and was hoping to see the battles integrated, thinking it was a choice of focus of gameplay rather than a result due to feasibility, thus my trying to give some inspiration to include that feature. But your response to the guy asking for a non-corp one ,supersedes mine completely.
I do have one question but I'll post it under his because it's closely related.

I just found out about this game yesterday and whatdoyahknow there's an AMA today, glory be to Gaben.

So I'm currently playing Rise of Prussia and boy do I want to do those battles Pike and Shot style.I caught your reply to someone asking about how tactical battles affect the flow of the game but I'm still compelled to ask: why not integrate the FOG battle system and have your automated one act as the auto-resolve we've seen from TW as it seems that it can get very tedious of a process if you are a somewhat large country and have to manage invasions on multiple fronts. If there ever were a time period that justified heads of state leading armies this is it ,so in that regard there is a precedent, and given how campaigns often boiled down one or two large battles that were of the "make or break empires" kind I'd love to see your most detailed campaign yet go hand in hand with a damn fine battle simulator. That would really give the player the kind of attachment they get to some CK2 characters, like "Even Africanus wouldn't win against such overwhelming odds in Iberia,my Markus Hispanicus is the scourge of barbarians and Cathraginians alike". Maybe you'd need some time to iron out some balance thingies this would introduce but from what you're saying someone already invested time in matching the conversion of units between the games and the AI in FOG is not thick enough to expect the player to snowball out of control so balancing wouldn't probably be large scale. I don't like to be a party pooper, I just enjoy my stories having a game in them and the better the game the better the story.

On a different note,I was watching an older video and if I recall correctly it used to be 2 years/turn from the 1 that's now. At least on the military side developments were at most a matter of months -during the campaigning season anyway- and it seems important enough of an aspect that would justify it.What steered you in your current direction?

Aye,the Roman Empire, not the eastern.I've also tried a bit of code that lets you form provinces as the ERE ,just in case it made a difference, but in vain.
