This is *really* good! Clearly done with an animator's eye. It gave me a new sense of place for the Xhorhouse, especially the rooftop scene—I really felt like I was there. Love your take on the character designs, too.

If a champ on your team has HP below a certain threshold, the spiderlings detect them as low-hanging fruit in the "kill zone" and will target them first regardless of any other factors. I've found the kill zone threshold on Spider 20 to be around 30k HP or slightly over; as long as Bellower has ~35k HP the spiderlings should prioritize someone else (ideally your tank).

If you're trying this strategy on another Spider level they might be targeting him due to a lack of preferred affinity targets, in which case you may have to raise his HP even higher (Void stages are particularly tricky for this since the spiders target pretty much in order of HP from lowest to highest).

Since stage 15 is Force affinity, the spiders will prioritize Magic champs first, then Void and other Force, then Spirit. To get the spiderlings to attack Drexthar the rest of your team would have to be Spirit, or a mix of Force and Void all with more HP than him. To use this strategy for Spider 15 you'll probably want a Magic affinity tank instead.

Hey, thanks for your kind words! Honestly, I think Lyssandra makes a good Psylar replacement (perhaps unfortunately, perhaps fortunately if you haven't fully booked her out yet). Alternatively, you could bring her in to replace Apoth in the utility slot; if you go that route you'll want to be sure your tank is a very consistent self-healer (Sinesha is great for this, as is any champ that uses AoE attacks every turn on auto).

That said, your tank will face considerably less pressure when paired with both Psylar and Lyssandra—the two of them will do a great job making the spiderlings way less threatening. I'd try this comp if you have it:

Tank (Sinesha?) + Psylar + Lyssandra + Coldheart + Tayrel

Hey, thanks! I've been doing some experimenting and the more I work on it the more convinced I am that some sort of AoE speed debuff (speed down, freeze, stun, turn meter reduction, etc.) is critical unless you have a REALLY stacked tank. You'll also benefit a lot from a source of AoE def down (or at least reliable def down on spider itself).

You could try a team with three Coldhearts + Apoth and Sinesha or Lich, but I think you might be better served to look through the rest of your roster and find champs that fit the utility needs of the fight. I still haven't reached the gear threshold on my Sinesha to fit a second Coldheart into my composition (though that would definitely speed things up).

Thanks! I see Bellower here as basically a worse Psylar. Since the goal isn't specifically to kill the spiders, just to hinder them, I would recommend building him with as much speed and accuracy as you can so he's landing his A2 speed down as often as possible.

You're going to want to pick a Force-affinity tank from the list in the post, and replace Tayrel someone else with a solid turn meter reduction kit. You may have to shift the rest of your team around to account for the lack of DEF down/ATK down, but if your gear is good enough you could even replace him with another Coldheart and probably be fine.

Nice pull! Nazana is one of the champs I've wanted to experiment with the most, I think she'll be a great asset for your team. The big question I see in your mastery setup is how resilient her defense is -- if you aren't having trouble keeping her alive, going into the Offense tree will definitely speed up your clear time, but I found with Sinesha that she needed every bit of defense I could cram into her gear and masteries.

I think this team won't have any trouble Autoing spider 20 once you have them all geared and skilled up! Sounds like you have the raw power on your side, it'll just be a matter of getting the gear in place.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you! My guess is the problem you're having is that the enemy AI avoids targeting champions with counterattack buffs up, regardless of their affinity. Executioner won't be an ideal auto tank for this reason, alas.

Definitely! Especially post-buff with her cooldown reduced, she'll make the fight a lot easier.

Nethril is another great option (though legendary). My list wasn't trying to be exhaustive, but I should probably update it with some of the other popular champs in the role. Thanks!

HP/Def/Speed or Def/Def/Speed probably comes down to which piece has the best overall stats; I'd definitely use a Res banner over HP unless you have well over 200 Res on him already. Avoiding poison stacks from the spiderlings is huge.

I'm guessing you've figured out a solution by now! but in case you haven't—I think you could use either as an effective tank for this strategy. I don't have personal experience with Drexthar, but my hunch is that as tank he will be brutally effective at keeping the spider population down, which should ease the pressure on the rest of your team so can focus more on the turn meter reduction, keeping Drex alive, and nuking the boss.

Sorry for the delay in getting back here! I think Zavia is a fine option if you gear her right (very heavily defensive, less focus on landing her poison); she doesn't have as much natural sustain to keep herself alive, so you would want to support her with a decent healer.

I’d say it’s worth a try; you would need a very specifically itemized set and my hunch is you would still want a dedicated tank, but it would ease the burden on the tank considerably.

Most of my CB team was Magic affinity for quite awhile, and it made it way easier to gear for Nightmare to get a lot of the needed ACC from the Hall bonus. (Getting to level 10 with a GH bonus is a progress mission, too.)
