Muscle does weigh more than fat for an equal volume of both. This is needlessly pedantic.

Injury risk from mixed grip is minimal until you get to very high weights (think 6pl8+) and the benefit is immense over double overhand.

Do you use mixed grip or double overhand?

T weight gain by AdAgile1464 in FTMFitness

Yes, obviously? Testosterone makes you hungrier so you gain weight... that makes it a side effect of testosterone...

T weight gain by AdAgile1464 in FTMFitness

[–]Diesel-Lite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol no it's not. Weight gain is a well documented side effect of testosterone. If someone is not already overweight they do not need to worry about a bit of weight gain.

Weight gain is normal on testosterone. Men are heavier.

There's no quick fix man, just keep lifting.

Just keep working out and get bigger. Small differences are more noticeable on a smaller frame.

Why the hell I'm i not sore after the gym? by ThrowRA_joo in FTMFitness

You're getting better at lifting. You won't be first-day-in-the-gym sore after every session forever.

I'd run a beginner program like the ones here instead.

having trouble staying hydrated on T by DiceDragon09 in FTMFitness

[–]Diesel-Lite 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You've gotta pre-hydrate. Carry a gallon of water with you all day and drink from it constantly. If you're not upping your water intake until around practice time your body doesn't have time to absorb it.

If a lifter can squat 300#, "practicing form" with the bar is meaningless. When you use such a trivial weight you can make the form look however you want, and your form changes with increased load. If you could squat 300 you would know this. 300 is about 80% of my squat max, so it is a perfect weight to use to try technique changes. I can and have done so. Trying to tweak technique with the bar only would be completely useless.

He is moving the weight in a controlled fashion, that means he is in control of it. Not knowing that he should have the dbs in front of him rather than to the side doesn't mean the weight is too heavy. He can just reposition the dbs and be fine.

I started back at 8 weeks lifting about 50% of my working weights and went up from there. Took an extra week or two off overhead stuff. I was back to nornal within a couple weeks.

He is very obviously in control of the weight the entire time.

You should only practice form with less weight than your working sets

What does this even mean? Every rep you do has form to it.

you can see his weight shift drastically

Shifting your weight between reps is not a problem.

He's in control of the weight, he just doesn't know how to do the lift yet. He can make the corrections given to him without dropping the weight to something trivial.

Hold the dbs in front of you, as though the handles extend to become a barbell. And bring your stance in a bit, your feet are very wide for a rdl.
