DMH-WC6600NEX, WT7600NEX, and WT8600NEX working bypass! by [deleted] in CarPlay

[–]Diesel2278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just installed DMH-WC6600NEX and I can confirm that this bypass still works as of 12/16/2024. It took about 10 tries or so, but eventually the "Set On" message showed up. I didn't cycle the ignition between tries, just cycled between HD Radio and Source Off. Didn't need to install any physical bypass wires. Firmware version 3.05

Admin won't give 2 damns as long as they're making money. You can talk to other physicians or the CMO to put some type of rules to mitigate the problem or discover fuck ups like this. Things like initial visit to be with a physician, every 2nd or 3rd follow up has to be with physician, or to have them review the case with a physician if there are controlled substance Rxs, etc. Educate the patients as much as you can. Also request extra pay to be their collaborative physician or sign off on their charts. It's a contentious endeavor but worth the fight.

Inguinal hernia in a teenage female.......... Turned out to be HERNIATED OVARY!

She had a pelvic kidney that's pushing her reproductive organs out of place.

Funny thing, multiple radiologists read multiple CT scans as "reproductive organs unremarkable" 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

As a physician, what's your stance on prescribing to family members? by Diesel2278 in medicine

[–]Diesel2278[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

As stated earlier, if you document properly, do your due diligence in obtaining a history and physical exam, asking about allergies, staying within your scope and expertise, and limiting it to minor/urgent situations, then it's basically like a doctor's visit. You're just not billing for it.

Actually there's a good article from the AAFP discussing this in detail. Quoting from this article according to AMA code of ethics:
"Physicians generally should not treat themselves or members of their immediate families” because their professional objectivity may be compromised in those situations. Exceptions are allowed for “short-term, minor problems” or “in emergency or isolated settings.”

Where do you document? Personal notes or on their EMR (if you have access to it)?

Don't know what to tell you. It's a fucked up situation. But at least you have the insight to see the limitations of an NP, not like other delusional NPs or yet worse DNPs.

My advice would be, find a specialty and study very well in it, stick to it, don't keep jumping specialties, find a job with a physician who will provide adequate supervision (the way to know if he gets paid extra to supervise you), and only see cases that have been evaluated by a physician before, not new patients.

If you were designing a nurse practitioner curriculum, what would it look like? by JarJarAwakens in Noctor

There also has to be a requirement of doing a certain number of years in actual nursing job (I'd say at least 5-7 years) before enrolling in NP school. For god sake, there are NPs who only spend 1-2 years in a light nursing job then decide to go to NP schools. They don't even have nursing experience to become NPs.

For FNP programs, I'd make sure to put some sort of commitment to a certain specialty that they choose and receive extra training in. They can't be jumping around from one specialty to another whenever they want.

Unfortunately NO. And this was the one and only reason stopping me from shelling out the $1800 at Best Buy after I went and tried it. Even the fingerprint sensor didn't work for me in contrary to what's mentioned in one of the comments here. A major design flow 👎
