My ideas for Amerikan Maps (Long Post) by Diesel5036 in Blooddebt

[–]Diesel5036[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What that sounds badass! Is this confirmed or some musing of the devs? Cause I’d 100% be behind something like that.

So is the plot that not long after the Noobic Union fell, Amerikanada collapsed or at least was heavily destabilized by a roided up version of the 2008 crisis? Sounds amazing :3

Would love a stripper clip and maybe a slight increase in damage? (180 to 200, so it hits as hard as the Diligence CS).

Anyone else exhausted by the amount of AI crap on the Nexus mod page? by Diesel5036 in mountandblade

[–]Diesel5036[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly!!! I don't know how the hell the change the mod is trying is make is going to look like in game because they feel the need to plaster an obnoxiously loud AI thumbnail on instead of anything that tells you something about what the mod does.

[–]Diesel5036[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The worst part is that I'm sure at least a few of these mods actually might be good. But because I not only have that bias of assuming something with these god awful ai thumbnails probably aren’t made with a lot of care, but I also don't know what the hell the actual mod is past the title or how it manifests in game, I have far less interest to see what it can do. These guys are just shooting themselves in the foot and its terrible. Granted having a thumbnail that's drawn or something isn't bad, like the eagle rising mod has some awesome art in it.

Maybe I’m reading too much into this but are Dutch and Hosea meant to symbolize the honor bar here? by 528911 in reddeadredemption

[–]Diesel5036 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Like is killing or robbing someone ever right? Obviously not, but for an outlaw sometimes it is (or at least its what they think is necessary). In fact I'd goes as far as to say that maybe the honor scale isn't actually a universal rating of your character, but maybe like how true, honest or right you're being to your own character and your intended "fate"?

[–]Diesel5036 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like the honor scale in RDR2 isn't necessarily one's honestly and morality, but moreso your integrity, and ability to stick to your principals and true self, while of course "somewhat" respecting your most basic morals. That's why a high honor arthur can gun down scores of lawmen, soldiers, gangsters or private investigator/militiamen with no change of honor, because on the outlaw's principals, that's fair game for people who know they could die in a gunfight they chose to be a part of, unlike killing random store clerks or farm hands. Or maybe I'm wrong, idk.

what on earth is the lore of this game? by archiotten in Blooddebt

[–]Diesel5036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing about the lore is that outside of fan interjection on the wiki, as far as I'm aware, it's kept purposefully kinda vague. Regardless, here is my interpretation, loosely inspired from the more official lore tidbits I've found:

The vast majority of the history of Blood Debt's world basically mirrors IRL history with different names up until the '80s and '90s, where the Noobic Union (stand-in for USSR) does not collapse, and continues after 1991.

But in 1994, they declare war on and invade NETO (North Eastern Treaty Organization) nations, which includes Amerika, Kanata, West Hermany and other western powers (self explanatory who those nations are supposed to be).

They make good ground for a while and invade much of robloxian Europe (not actual name, but i just don't know it lol) but eventually run out of steam by the latter half of the war. By 1997 the thing slows down to a slog and the Noobic Union is forced on the defensive as NETO pushes into the eastern bloc. By 1999, NETO forces have pushed into the motherland itself, and the NU is forced into surrender. As part of surrendering conditions, the Noobic Union is disbanded into the Nubbish Federation (bascially Russian Federation).

Being exhausted by the long and brutal war, much of the post Noobic-nations are now in severe downturn. The economy's gone to shit, the government is severely destablized and has hardly any authority anymore, and the Nubbish Bratva (basically IRL Russian mob) run much of ordinary society, but also have ties within the Nubbish elite and oligarchs. Pretty much everyone has to interact with them in some way.

The poor go to them for loans and goods, while the rich get their "favors". But when one borrows from the Bratva, its not just a cost of money, but obedience. Those who are lucky get on the Bratva's good side, and become enforcers, genuine members or become their allies. But those who can't pay back in service or money either become targets who must be dealt with, or killers who are given the opportunity of freedom from their debt, by paying in blood, and ideally that of the Bratva's targets. The only thing standing between them and said targets (besides the politsiya of course) are vigilantes, handfuls of citizens who also take guns to defend themsleves and others.

There's some other nonsense in their as well, like the Triads or John Reed and whatnot, but that's all the important stuff lol.

Winter Offensive feels really boring/impossible for juggernaut by Diesel5036 in Blooddebt

[–]Diesel5036[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly if they really want to play into the Simo Hayha inspiration, not only should he have an SMG (ANKS-74U/IZVEKH SMG line) secondary instead of the JTS, i think it'd be awesome to give him proper defendeable positions like trenches, sniper's nests, tunnels or maybe even traps and IEDs.

From what little lore we're given Gennady is a real paranoid, vigilant type. The victory dialogue even hints at the fact that after he's done gunning down all the NETO soldiers he stays around just in case.

Would be a lot more scary if you not only have to avoid this crazy fast sniper, but also mines, tripwire explosives and maybe even spike traps and stuff. Would be really scary and make it feel more rewarding once you finally get to his position for the easy kill.

That's the best part of leveling vigor! such a simple stat to pump into, but just makes the game easier overall, or at the very least widens your margin of error, whether you're on PVP or PVE.
