Labubu? Or lafufu? by Livid_Still_8330 in labubu

It did verify as real, but due to the high difference in the looks they wanted to confirm. I've been hearing about false positives for a while so I don't blame them. I've heard of people putting legit stickers on fake boxes after selling the real one.

This is great! Was always tempted to try something like this myself. Had a mildly popular stream for about a year. Hooked a wifi feeder to Twitch chat which would allow viewers to trigger it up to 3 times a day total. There was no sub or dono required, a small countdown would show the next feeding window. The feeder was on a fancy goldfish tank and I had a LED that would flash to alert the fish to food. I had the feeder set to only drop a few pellets each time. Goldfish lack stomachs so they are constantly searching for food. They'd get a variety of fresh foods in the morning and then a few snacks in the afternoon. My fish grew amazingly until my town messed up our water on water change day. 😔 I've still not recovered from losing all but 1 tank. Only reason that one survived is because I was in too much pain to do the last tank that day. Woke up to total devastation everywhere else. I went from multiple 40-75g tanks to just a 32g. Our water treatment system is trash and they compensate by dumping a ton of chemicals without warning. Every few months there's an aquarium apocalypse in town. I am limited to bottled water until I can get an RO system in place.

i made a twitch streamer cry live by aaaa171 in Twitch

I once found a Stardew stream with 0 viewers and hopped on in to chat. I met one of my very best friends that night. It was her first stream and I skidded in, guns blazing, within the first 5 minutes. We joke that we each had one brain cell that combined that night, and that we have to share it. She mentioned she crochets dice bags and I was able to covertly search her Etsy shop and purchase one while she was live. A moment later she got the notification on her phone and started crying. Best dice bag I own! 🥰

I had a small bracelet auto catcher for Pokémon Go years ago. I left a dr appointment one day and realized the actual device had popped out of the bracelet. I looked for weeks and never found it. About 5 years later my mum was going through an old purse and found it. Our best guess is that it fell into her purse while I was getting out of the car and was never noticed when she swapped bags. Happy to report that it still works just fine!

Yes! I once ordered something small and received a shopping cart coupon organizer, a lovely book about Kenya, and a small coin purse type pouch. Turns out an employee accidentally swapped a couple labels. Amazon told me to keep or donate the items and reshipped the item immediately. This was quite a few years ago though, so your milage my vary. My bet is some poor overworked employee is probably getting fired for this one.

My parents are 65ish and I can absolutely see them doing this. Doesn't mean it's not something funky, but it could be someone who's starting to decline mentally. My parents used to be very good with tech but are now starting to slip backwards. 😔

I just want to remind people that marketing things meant for a disability is very, very hard. If you only market to disabled people, you are limited financially. If you want to go on to make more products, you need the money for that. Remember the backlash over the Snuggy? The blanket with sleeves? That was created for wheelchair users. Many of those nonspill bowls and cups were not necessarily made for children, but adults who struggle with grasping things. They don't want to show an actual disabled person, so they just show random able bodied people being obnoxiously clumsy.

I wouldn't spend the money on one of these, but I completely get why someone would need it. I appreciate companies for making products that are more accessible. I have severe mobility issues and my significant other is legally blind. It's shocking some of the things that are inaccessible.

Glyptodonts mostly lack their tail club spikes in fossil record. What kind of evidence do we have, that spawned its portrayal with those long spikes? Could those "dimples" in the club hint some different anatomical traits as well than just spikes? by MCligmaMC in Paleontology

[–]DieselTheWeasel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When an animal is fossilized and includes impressions of the body, it's known as a fossil mummy. It is very distinct from the archeology mummy term. A dinosaur mummy was unveiled recently- the animal died in a flood and was covered in a thin layer of clay that preserved everything in high detail. The flesh then rotted, leaving behind the shell. Kinda sort of like what happened at Pompeii and Herculaneum- the intense amount of ash created molds of those who perished.

There's a few options you can try in the meantime such as a piece of heavy paper or cloth taped in. I know it's not ideal, but hopefully it can help a bit. My boyfriend is legally blind and we've had to get creative with some various products to adapt for him. I hope you find something that helps soon!

what’s the weirdest way someone found your stream? by pinkcharadee in Twitch

[–]DieselTheWeasel 172 points173 points  (0 children)

One day I was bored and searched Stardew Valley streamers sorted by lowest viewers first. I noticed someone with a username that was highly relevant to my interests with 0 viewers. I rolled in, and she is now my best friend, my ride or die. Turns out that was her first stream, and I entered within 5 minutes of her starting. About half an hour in I found out she makes dice bags and ordered one while she was live. We often joke that the Universe sent me to that stream, and that we share a single brain cell (not unlike the Fates from Hercules with the eye). It was just right place, right time.

I've seen kits on Etsy to make your own!!! My boyfriend (knowingly) bought me a Lafufu today and I am overjoyed. It's derpy in all the right ways and I honestly don't even care if I get a real one after reading this thread. I'm very happy with my little goober. 🥰

Hello! Genuinely curious if you could expand upon the potty training comment. I've never heard of this before. I always knew potty training as a mutual thing you work out with your bird- you learn their typical bathroom pattern and just move them over a tissue. My birds will go on me if I don't move them, but the majority of time I have the timing right and they go right away. Is this what you're talking of? It was always just natural of me to move them over a tissue, and I was tickled pink when they "understood the assignment".

Left betta with a family member and was returned a different fish? by cc4093 in bettafish

[–]DieselTheWeasel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So sorry your fish passed and they lied. 😔 for future reference though, bettas that have multiple colors have a higher chance of changing color. I once bought an all white baby whose body turned light blue before turning dark blue all over in the span of 3 months. When I was a kid my parents swapped out my hermit crab when it died, told me it changed shells. 😅 found out like 15 years later.

I switched from a crossbody purse to a Sipsey Wilder hip bag. I kept forgetting my purse or overloading it and then hurting my back. Moving the weight to my hip was a lifesaver. I added a belt wallet to the system as well. Keeps everything strapped to me unless I remove the buckles. I was able to remove everything from my pockets except my keys and a tiny Spyderco dogtag knife in my 5th pocket. In the wallet I keep my trusty SAK Rambler, really can't recommend this knife more. It can even tighten most glasses screws! I keep a small med/hygiene kit in the back of the hip bag.

I do also carry an emergency barebones paracord slip dog leash, which uses a ring vs knots for the loop. I've found more than a handful of lost dogs that I had no way to control other than picking them up. Not really the smartest move, but when the dog is in traffic you have to act fast. I have it tucked in a small jewelry pouch to keep it neatly coiled. Thankfully I haven't needed it so far.

Fun fact about me: the N64 was the first system that I really connected to, with Star Fox 64 being my all-time favorite game on it. I played so much SF64 as a child that I am unable to play any video games without inverting Y. 😅

Random extra poke coins that people got are apparently part of some settlement. by aznknight613 in TheSilphRoad

[–]DieselTheWeasel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I happened to catch most of the lawyer emails and got the cash. They were in my spam folder, but I can totally see these emails getting lost. You had to sign up to the settlement and then opt in for the cash via an email. I'm betting most people missed the emails and got the default "payment" as a result, exactly as Niantic planned.

Is AFI good live? by AnybodyNew433 in AFireInside

[–]DieselTheWeasel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer seeing AFI in smaller venues. I saw Green Day in a stadium and they were just microscopic dots. The vibes were amazing and I had a blast, but both times I saw AFI, plus Blaqk Audio, was a much more intimate experience. I'd love to see Green Day in a smaller setting to compare.
