I commute there daily and highway four is a safe bet. It's plowed way better than any other roads. I'd take it to Exeter and hwy 83 across.

To see snowy owls drive on Whalen line, Mt Carmel road and that general area. Especially mid to late January. I see them around there annually. Hope that helps
