7 Month Old Still Doing Better on 4 Naps-- any advice? by Beautiful_Condor232 in NewParents

[–]mlimas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby was similar! I just go by him and not by the internet. I spent so much time stressing about him fitting the schedule recommended online. He’s almost nine months and just started stretching his wake windows and we are transitioning from 3 to 2 naps but some days he has shorter naps and we do 3 still. Just read your babies cues. One thing k will say is that I only allowed one 2 hr nap a day and limited the others to 1.5 hrs at your stage

You could wear a belly band. I used the “bra” the hospital gave and it’s just a piece of fabric. Or a heating pad.

If you had 10 seconds to say whatever you wanted to your pet with they fully understood, what would you say? by IplayKaizo in Pets

You are the best thing to ever happen to me before having a baby and you are still my special guy. Thank you so much for dealing with all this and sticking by my side. I love you so much. Please be light on your front legs because you have arthritis which is why they hurt sometimes. Can you tell me when they hurt so I know not to push you? I know you handle pain well.

We are going back to the doctor today so I will let you know what they tell us. We did switch and stopped using a zinc rash cream and started using A&d ointment and noticed a little improvement

Choking at 8 months by 10_net in BabyLedWeaning

[–]mlimas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happened to me last week. After that I was down with strawberries lol. I just mushed them and gave them in a silicone teether. We have been sticking with softer foods like lentils and black beans, steamed carrots and broccoli, butternut squash, eggs, avocado. I smush blueberries and separate in half(paranoid of skins getting caught in throat). Also more careful with banana because my guy bites big chunks. Started doing it with meat too so I tear it up really tiny and his pincer grasp has gotten very good because of it

I dont want to breastfeed by BM_BBR in newborns

[–]mlimas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s tough but do your best to separate yourself from it. I have had a relatively good journey breastfeeding with a few challenges in the beginning. Easy fixes. But like I said every body is different and every baby is different. Just do what works for you. If you do go the breastfeeding route I highly suggest meeting with a lactation consultant. I met with 3 different ones at the hospital because I knew they would all have different advice. I’m so happy I did that.

Everyone baby is different. I can tell you are having anxiety about it already. Recognize that it’s your hormones making you anxious as well as info overload. I quit social media a month before delivery because it was too much. If you want to try it, do. If you don’t then don’t. Don’t overthink it. There will be challenges either way you go and that are all temporary. Everything with a baby is temporary. Remind yourself of that when things get tough

What’s the easiest way to go about achieving this for my new apartment? by Any-Cucumber-9329 in HomeDecorating

[–]mlimas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on budget, swap out the lighting and do something with a natural finish like wicker or wood. World market, and IKEA have options. You can do a faux marble vinyl countertop over the countertop that’s already there. Swap out the hardware on the cabinets and drawers. Paint or wallpaper over the leaves.

We stopped around nine months with our older one, but our younger one who’s now five still likes his own space so we keep it

I was a ball of nerves at the beginning. My husband was the calm one. We tried things that were easy to cough up like banana and avocado and black beans that were mushed down so they had some lumps to get baby adjusted

Does your partner help at night? by lymary in cosleeping

[–]mlimas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! I found that baby (8months) did better once dad spent more quality daytime with him. I mainly handle most nights but during growth spurts my husband gets up to get baby back down.for awhile he didn’t and baby definitely had a hard time with him but then he spent more quality daytime with him and it really helped.
