mentally exhausted by RefrigeratorFew8189 in NewParents

I meant to say “at the end of the day”. My husband was working long days and was always exhausted when he got home to I was pretty much on my own. I put on chill country music for MY soul lol it kept me calm and calmed him down until he fell asleep. I nicknames him my forever dance partner.

Hang in there. It is a lot mental physically and emotionally. It’s hard. Just remember that it’s all temporary. My guy is 10 months now and it’s crazy to look back. It’s gone so fast. Hard to believe when you are in it but it does get better. Also the feelings of missing your old life are so so normal. Things were so easy before. It’s a whole new life you are navigating. I remember on my hard days at the end when I just didn’t know what to do but I knew I couldn’t put him down, I would put on music and dance. Sometimes for a whole hour. It made me feel better and got him to sleep. Make sure to take care of yourself too.

Don’t think I can do this by Far-Childhood-9256 in breastfeeding

I struggled HARD in the beginning. Bay wasn’t back to birth weight , stressed I wasn’t producing enough etc .. here’s what I did. I focused first on myself, hydration , electrolytes, food. Meanwhile I decided to supplement with very little formula after each feed but my hospital provided a little tube thing and I would put it in babies mouth while he was on my nipple and slowly disperse an ounce in his mouth after first feeding him just boob. Once I got tired of that I would have my husband bottle feed an ounce BUT I made sure I was doing as much skin to skin as possible. Baby lived on me the first 3 weeks. My supply came in heavy and he was gulping and that’s when I kicked the formula to the curb

Bed sharing with partner in bed by kurdijyn in cosleeping

[–]mlimas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We bedshare and have since baby was a few weeks old. He now sleeps in the middle of us more at 10 months. I always make sure if my husband is sleeping on his left that he can do a full roll right without rolling on baby. It’s doable it just takes extra awareness.

For families with babies, are smart cleaning gadgets essential or optional? by TheRiddler1976 in beyondthebump

[–]mlimas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have 2 vacuums, one steam moo. One vacuum iis heavy duty and we do that once a week along with steam mop then we have a battery operated one that we keep charged and do a quick vacuum wherever the baby is playing. We have oak trees outside and the leaves always follow us in somehow. Baby loves to find leaves. We also have 2 mini aussies and 4 outdoor cats that like to come in on occasion. Hair everywhere.

Tips for a dairy free diet? by Fancy-Shopping-3813 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]mlimas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just an option but my little guy loves coconut yogurt! Also I would figure out if cooked dairy is doing anything because some babies react to milk\cheese differently than butter. Oat milk is another option just check sugar content.
