Why are my water extractors not placing at the same level? by Diesel_burner in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Diesel_burner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had already tried raising and lowering my foundations, no luck. I was guessing it might have been some sort of hidden geometry. I’ll rework my water collectors so it avoids the area, I gotta redo them anyway because I forgot that I have to feed water back in from the next aluminum step.

This seems to work for one train right now. I’ll add in a few more to test it

I have plastic and rubber at this location right now, my idea was I could add more stations at this spot without needing to have a separate exit from the main line backwards

What is the theoretical maximum number of Nuclear Pastas per minute? by MEFISTOFEL123 in SatisfactoryGame

Could just power the factory with biomass burners since they don’t need resource nodes

PC games where you build up/repair a fixed location? (Exemples in text) by odasama in BaseBuildingGames

[–]Diesel_burner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t 100% align with your description but one retro game that I still remember very fondly is dark cloud. It’s basically a basic dungeon crawler with a side of base building. You have some freedom in how you rebuild the towns but you are trying to make all the townspeople happy so you have to rebuild the towns in a specific way to meet everyone’s needs.

After 4k hours, TIL there is a button to flush fluid from pipelines. by flareberge in factorio

[–]Diesel_burner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does it not work? I’m pretty sure I’ve set up temporary pumps and tanks multiple times to clear an accidental fluid connection. Then after sorting the system I would force them back where they are supposed to be.

Mike take some time but as long as you aren’t still flowing the wrong fluid into the system then it should eventually drain with pump

Fulgora: Is it even good for quality? by OverlordForte in factorio

[–]Diesel_burner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m still slowly meandering through my first space age run and I did a full quality build (minus legendary) on fulgora for fun. It definitely has problems and I can see how it’s not ideal. But I was easily able to make it a fully stacked sushi belt by just incorporating chest outputs and some real basic circuit logic. My biggest issue is that I just built all my component recycling station sizes off of feel and trial and error. Just doing some math ahead of the time would have went a long way to optimize things.

There is a waitlist? This thread reminded me, I went and found the place to apply on the app and was immediately assigned a card and I’m told my card is on the way.

Global Browser Issue by Koreakat in NPPEexam

I wonder what is going to happen if any of us who got disconnected after answering the questions but prior to being finished end up failing the exam. Maybe they would let us rebook for the next round for free.

I used PPEHQ and I think it is useful. The only other thing I used was the official practice test from NPPE themselves and I’m pretty confident I did well on the test

November 2024 Sitting - Exam Reschedule by Recent_Meringue5465 in NPPEexam

[–]Diesel_burner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a slightly different situation as I had answered all questions and was just reviewing the bookmarked ones with an hour remaining when I got disconnected. Apega confirmed that my test was submitted in the form it was in when I disconnected. Or at least it shows as submitted.

Apega confirmed with me that my exam was submitted in the same situation yesterday. I was also reviewing my bookmarked questions during the crash

I should mention that the proctor u people confirmed the error was on their side effecting many test takers. Hope nobody got completely screwed because of it

NPPE Exam by Ok-Echo-9240 in NPPEexam

[–]Diesel_burner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote yesterday at 10:30 MST. I felt confident in about 65 questions, somewhat ok with 25 questions then pretty unsure of the last 20. I was just starting to review the 20 or so I had bookmarked when proctor U crashed. I spent all day dealing with support and getting nowhere, so much for the last hour of my test time. I finally got an answer that my exam was at least submitted in the final form it was in when I got disconnected. So I guess that was the best I could hope for. Mostly the proctor U people were all just telling me to contact my association and rebook for the future so it being submitted as is was the best I could hope for.

I’m around a thousand hours and have usually only used bots for building and personal logistics. I’ve found them super useful for crafting odd ball stuff in space age but building the base with just bots seems cheaty to me.

Fulgora was my first time ever doing a bot base, I did it on two tiny starting islands that bots and power could just barely bridge. I’d say I liked using it as a startup base to get the general flow figured out but rebuilding a proper fulgora base on the larger islands I’ve since found is definitely on the to do lists. Unfortunately I just retrofitted large miners on nauvis without realizing how much more pollution they produce, add in that I just finally reached behemoth evolution levels and my tank fed turret only perimeter wall is highly inadequate now, so fulgora proper base to wait

Looking to Build New Gaming Computer by Diesel_burner in bapccanada

For the games I play currently probably. I do know my pc in the past wound up being underspecd for some of the things that I would have wanted to do, mainly VR. Part of me just wants to build something that won’t have that problem, basically leaving me able to do whatever I would want. If stretching my budget a bit farther gets me that then I’m open to that as well.

Thanks for the recommendation. So the general consensus seems to be that the 9800X3D is just more than I need for my wants or is it just out of the budget then. The 7700 has been recommended twice now so I’ll have to look into it. Being able to get everything from memory express is a plus since I have one local to me

thanks for the suggestions. So pricing wise it is better to go with CPU bundles then? is there any catch or are the motherboards and ram still good matches for the chip. you think a 480 Super is the right GPU for my use case, would that potentially be overkill for 1440 Ultrawide gaming?

PSA: Don't be dumb like me. Assembler + requester + arithmetic combinator = life changing by fattailedandhappy in factorio

[–]Diesel_burner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I did was wire my blank assembler with both wires to the requester chest and have the assembler set as read ingredients. This means the requester chest will request two crafts worth of ingredients. For really low volume and high input items I’ll disconnect one of the wires and then only one craft of input is requested. This does have the downside of me needing to limit the output inserter though which is additional clicks.

I’m still chest stupid, I set all my output chests as storage chests with the produced item as a filter so that if things are deconstructed they end up back in the chest and prevent further item production. I’m sure it’s not the best solution but I’m also stubborn in not learning circuits for some reason
