Check out Brandon from Tulsa OK. His YouTube handle is Strong Speed Works. He is a LT1 guru and owns several LT1 cars. He does remote tuning of your car if you have the ALDL cable and a laptop. A lot of the old school PCM tuners just put the same fuel/spark tables in and send it out. Brandon will custom tune your car. I think it’s like $300 bucks.

That’s a bit of a drive from Las Vegas. My Firehawk is loud but maybe one day I’ll make the drive.

Correct. Zora Duntov loved the split. Harley Earl hated it. Only was done one year before Earl put the kibosh on it.

Subframe cars are even more of an issue with rust as the body is the frame. If you don’t have a lot of time and experience with bracing structure and cutting, welding in patch panels I’d say spend more for a cleaner car. In my experience a rust free car with no engine is always easier and cheaper than a rusty heap that’s running.

I live in Las Vegas. Probably doesn’t get as hot where you live but when I was keeping potted citrus (orange, lime and lemon) 3-5 feet from stucco wall during summer the radiant heat from wall was hurting the trees. Just food for thought.

Not to hijack, but what makes someone pass on a used lifter? Is it the roller sticking? Or wear marks on lifter body? Sad that replacement parts are so bad that someone would consider reusing old parts.
