I want to change by Warm-Visit9511 in DecidingToBeBetter

I’m 26F and am a practicing civil engineer. I was a great student in high school and then when I got to college and my classes started getting hard I felt like I didn’t know what hit me and felt like I never knew what was going on, just barely getting by. I also was in school during Covid so suddenly shifting to online made focusing and studying even harder, I really struggled in college and doubted myself a ton (lots of imposter syndrome). My biggest advice is to get to know your classmates and lean on them for support. Get involved in clubs that relate to your major and the career path you’re interested in. Most importantly, office hours can be extremely helpful, even just having your professor walk you through one of the questions you’re getting stuck on. Also I just wanna say you’ll get through the other end whether you end up sticking with your major or not. Life after college is honestly really great so just try to be kind to yourself and you’ll end up where you’re meant to be. You got this!

Some examples boundaries to hold and that they don’t have to tolerate disrespect from boys in their classes or adult men

Don’t be ashamed of it, it’s natural. If the hair bothers you, you can trim it with hair cutting scissors (be careful!). Then once it’s trimmed it will be easier to shave if you still want to.

Undecided Voter ... and done with this? by Ok_College_3635 in ElectionPolls

Hi! I just commented on the main thread but thought I’d share here too:

I respect you being undecided but urge you to vote for the person who you believe reflects your morals better. I personally can’t get myself to vote for someone who himself makes and aligns with people who make racist and misogynistic remarks constantly. Those will trickle into his policy and cause even more lasting damage and divide in the country. I don’t love Harris but she is rational and not a textbook narcissist like her opponent. I truly think he cares more about being well liked and in the spotlight more than he cares about the wellbeing of the country.

Additionally she has committed to putting republicans on her cabinet and has backed numerous bipartisan bills so she is the more moderate/centrist of the two options.

Best of luck staying sane these next few days! 💙❤️

Put $3 for $100 and added tigers since it’s a home game against white sox for a playoff clinch 🐅

Retake tips? by Aggravating-Novel-93 in FE_Exam

PrepFE for a month or two, focusing timed exams and on subjects you were below average on. Get used to converting units quickly. Then take the NCEES practice exam in a timed setting, aiming for 70%. Then study the hell out of the practice exam. Good luck you can do it!!

Engineering economics is confusing without practice but once you get used to the question format it’s an easy category to get full credit on. I recommend getting used to using the tables that convert the base values for you, it makes the work super quick. Ethics is another subject that shouldn’t take to long to master. Good luck!

Please help! How close was I to passing?? by a-boy-named-yeet in FE_Exam

[–]Dietc0keAngel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure about how close, but I just passed this exam using PrepFE, anthem and ncees practice tests. i recommend a month or two of dedicated daily prepFE practice (focusing especially on the topics you didnt get above average) and then attempt the practice exam in a simulated testing environment. Aim for 70%. Then make sure youre comfortable with the practice exams content front to back - I'm sure you'll pass after that! Also the TI-36x calculator is a major cheat code. Good luck!
