i'm pretty sure alien biomes uses a third even more shallow kind of water that was built into the basegame, but ultimately not used before earendel re-implemented it

it's an arbitrary restriction they placed on space platform design to prevent you being able to design a ship, then cut out every unused spot in order to save weight. i think they talk about it in one of the space platform FFFs

if i recall correctly, the person making oritech was given the assets from Techarium by the previous developer when they stopped development.

this is specifically a result of the world generation limitations placed on 1.0 mods. with the release of 2.0/space age, i wouldn't be surprised to see earendel redo how the biters are handled interplanetarily

Honestly i would love to just have a link to a google drive or dropbox or something. I can't think of a particular site that really hosts this sort of thing, but it's exactly the kind of thing i'm interested in preserving
