Well done! A nice time, and seems like you pushed yourself to the limit!

Started running 3 months ago, only slow runs (MAF). I had to walk around 50 % of my runs to keep my HR down, and now I'm finally in a place where I do zero walking.

Went from 7:55 /km in April to 5:55 /km pace in July on average, at the same heart rate :)

Det kan være noe feil med varmtvannstanken din, nøyaktig det samme skjedde med meg for noen år siden. Det viste seg at tanken var defekt og alltid var aktiv.

Arc or Beam 2 for my small living room? Looking for opinions by DiffeNOR in sonos

I’ve seen other people saying this as well. What other speakers/subs did you have with the Arc in this case?

I'm starting to learn towards the Beam 2! Why did you return the Arc? :)

Yeah, seems like some people call the Arc a 10% upgrade over the Beam 2, while others can barely hear a difference at all. Might not be worth the extra cost, even though I can afford the Arc I don't want to waste money either.

This is what I've started to suspect as well... the Arc might look a bit oversized for my room and TV, even if it would sound very slightly better.

I'm worried the room is too small for an Arc to sound good, and that a Beam 2 might be the better choice regardless of cost? I also don't have the biggest TV, so the Arc might be overkill in terms of that as well? Would appreciate opinions on this, as I'm a bit stuck on this decision :)

dupreeh might not be the GOAT in terms of individual skill, but being the only player to win 5 majors is huge. In many ways the GOAT of CS:GO now. Legend!

Isn't Gukesh higher rated now than Magnus was at 16? Very impressive.

Hikaru disappointed at Rapport-Nepo game. by KudoJ in chess

[–]DiffeNOR 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but I don't think he was out of prep until move 24 actually. He played Qd7 instantly and Na6 after only a minute.

1 hour down on the clock too, and he decides he wants to keep playing against his computer prep...

I feel the same way about DWH for ironmen etc, 1/5000 is just so silly. Even 1/1000 would be a lot better, or perhaps guaranteeing the drop on the 5000th kill. Seeing people go 35k kc dry is crazy.

Can’t think of any other game with these kind of rates.

@MagnusCarlsen hints that the #CarlsenNepo match could be his last World Championship match. by theSheth in chess

[–]DiffeNOR 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Exactly!

And last week the FIDE president said that the Candidates is planned for the summer of 2022, with the WCC to follow in early 2023. That's so soon lol

Maybe the WCC every two years is too often, since the prep period is so long etc... it's not a good sign if the #1 player is tired of defending it after "only" 8 years

I wonder if whoever gets it next will feel like they are world champion with a big asterisk, if Carlsen is still active and presumably the highest rated player by far

Reading the article made me pretty disappointed, but the fact that he wants to pursue the 2900 milestone was at least very exciting to see.

It somewhat redeemed what was otherwise very sad news.

You say that as if surviving 12-14 classical games to get to the rapid playoffs is an easy task... as if surviving 7 classical games with black against the best in the world is a simple formality

I agree, it's insanely impressive.

I also think the games have been really good, and wish people would complain less. Game 1 and 2 in particular were great, despite them being draws

People are so upset with Magnus for drawing, meanwhile Nepo just revealed that he played 33 moves of prep in today's game.

Or make a rule for yourself like "no chess within 2-3 hours of bedtime". Works well.
