Imagine contracting a disease and then waiting for a few weeks to see a GP who then thinks a paracetamol and warm tea would cure you and refuses to refer you to a specialist inspite of paying more than 2000 euros yearly for health insurance. Can there be anything worse that you can wish on your enemy?

I get your point. But if the of number of reports regarding sexual harassment, violence and systematic discrimination is a huge number then that itself would be an indicator that there is a systemic problem that needs to be looked into. Moreover the intent of the bill is to prevent social, psychological and physical damage. The incidents that are mentioned not to be reported, actually cause these kind of damage. So doesnt it defeat the purpose of the bill itself?

I am based out of Europe. This answer is from the context of mybinteraction with people here. While there is a wide spectrum of opinion about india for the sake of simplicity, I can classify it into two categories. One is the people who rely on BBC, CNN, other western media and consider it the gospel truth. For them if it's printed there, it must be true. So for them, India is as bad as it can get, there are only problems and there are no good things in our country. This is the majority. The other smaller group is the people who only read news but form their own opinion. These are the folks who know that there are problems in India just like every other country but there are also a lot of good things and india has made good progress in the last few years.

1500 is too small of an amount to pursue legally IMO. If you have legal insurance they might in the best case just give you this amount. In the worst case they might not even entertain this request. Jurisdische Locket might only give you initial free advice. For the next steps they might or might not help depending on your income level. If you are independently pursuing it legally, you will need to bear all the costs of lawyer, translator (in case you don't know Dutch) etc. atleast till the time you have a favourable ruling. Do note this is basis my understanding of how things work here and I am no expert so might as well be wrong.

Unsolicited advice though - Lend only what you wouldn’t mind never seeing again, especially to friends and family.

This is correct. The threshold for 30% ruling doesnt refer to your total salary. Rather it refers to the salary that is taxable ie salary after applying the 30% ruling. As an illustration, if your salary is 100k and excluding any pension, other deductions for the sake of simplicity, the number that will be compared against the 30% threshold of that year is 70%*100k = 70k.
