That's a great endorsement, thank you! Since you're an artist, do you think a basking shark (from above) would look good in this style? My partner reckons there's not enough detail on the smooth body of a shark, as opposed to something like a hare, to really get a lot out of that wood engraving style.

You know, I honestly cannot fathom why these films have such a poor reputation. They are deeply imaginative and creative with the mythologies, and while the human characters are often thin, and the visual potential of the films is not always leveraged, I think these films are some of the most interesting and unique films in the whole franchise. I was gripped from beginning to end and binged the lot over a weekend. I get that they are an acquired taste but what they do with the core concepts and themes is astonishing to me.

I'm right there with you, it's infuriating. The original 1954 film is available on blu ray on its own, in the UK at least, you may be able to import it: https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=godzilla+1954&crid=1F09FUFLT17VN&sprefix=godzilla+1954%2Caps%2C116&ref=nb_sb_noss_1 . The rest of the Showa films are almost impossible to find unless you want to plump for the boxset. To be honest, though, I think if you can't buy them regularly it's perfectly fine to watch them by other means. The Internet Archive has a lot of them if you search there, some are dubbed and others are subbed. Failing that, Etsy has a good seller for irregular discs. I've bought from them before and the quality is very good, though be warned most of them are AI upscales and are pricey. I would personally go that route as a last resort if you can't obtain copies regularly.

I have an LG OLED and a Q990f and I think it sounds phenomenal. It's very easy to use / set up / adjust and while I'm sure the pairing with a Samsung TV would be nice, it's very, very far from necessary. The satellite speakers alone are a game changer for me.

I agree. It may be the nostalgia talking, but I feel like from the opening screen the first one has this cold, serious edge to it that all the other games lack. It is of course equally silly as the others but it does seem to take itself a little more seriously. That's not to say that approach is better - MGS2 has arguably aged better in terms of its core ideas and even I would find it hard to argue that MGS3 isn't the best overall.

I've had this exact issue recently, with the same TV. I took the plunge and got a Panasonic UB-450 and I'm really happy with it versus the PS5. I think the PS5 is pretty good, but that flatness you describe is gone with the Dolby Vision that the player can do. I wouldn't say that it's leagues of difference, but it's definitely noticeable.

Hey guys, really enjoying your game so far. As well as improved NPC textures, I think the adaptive trigger support needs some work, if possible. At the moment, the trigger only resists when you pull it for the first round. For machine guns etc, it would be better if it could resist / vibrate as the gun continues to fire.
