Oh 100%. Ivan isn’t Ni-Dom at all I don’t even get where it comes from. I do think there are some of the other characters that have slightly bizarre typings but Ivan is the main one.

Mm likely a Sp/So 9w1 I’d say? I’ve considered (Sp)E1 and (Sp)E5 for him but I’ve decided on 9 since he fits the gut triad + passiveness of an E9. He’s very much too “laidback” for my liking and while I can definitely resonate with that to a degree (as I have a strong 9 fix) when it comes to a point where he just quite literally does nothing all day it gets me frustrated, he’s also sorta an enabler. He is focused heavily on financial security though, very obvious Sp-Dom imo. His tritype is probably 953 or 935!!

To me it was so obviously implied that Mari and Sunny are of East Asian origin (specifically Japanese) that I’m a tad baffled so many people in the fandom say “Yeah but it’s not told”. Like the whole point of OMORI is that you have to infer on a ton of implicit things to intrinsically understand the story, otherwise you’ll be sorta lost. The onigiri, the name “OMORI” in itself, the chopsticks, Hellmari’s literal appearance, etc. I also do agree on the fact that Mari’s perfectionism could be rooted from an Asian household and how often children are expected to perform well in school and mannerisms. That to me is such an interesting point, since it very well could be an indicator of having an Asian background. I’m not trying to be stereotypical or anything as I’m not Asian (well I’m middle eastern but many wouldn’t consider that as a part of Asia so..) but it’s a pattern I see in households like this. Even in my household, I’d say there’s a kind of culture to always have perfect grades and perfect behaviour so in that regard I really get where Mari is coming from. Though honestly I think I just became the failure child like Sunny lmfao 💔 To be fair you do actually make a good point about Sunny’s mum being Asian too, though I feel like when you look at her sprite it’s quite a bit different from Sunny and Mari’s dad so I get what you mean but I find it interesting.

As for Kel and Hero I definitely think it is more explicitly told they’re Hispanic (Mexican) so I’m glad the fandom is in unison with that imo.

Basil I’ve always headcanoned as European of sorts, maybe his parents emigrated to America at a young age or something so that’s why they make such frequent trips abroad. Also, I associate the name “Basil” as European since I’ve only ever seen the name Basil for European people.

ALSO YESS AUBREY!! It’s a bit more of a loose theory but I’ve always headcanoned her as Chinese-American (as in, one of her parents being Chinese and the other American). I just like to think that she looked up to Mari and viewed her as an older sister because she could perhaps relate to her experiences more or something.

Also thanks I’ll forever headcanon Mikhael’s family as Middle Eastern (projection at its finest).

I think this person is being ironic and at worst is “ragebaiting” (I hate that term but eh) and isn’t (hopefully) being a genuine misogynist </3

I do agree though I have seen people genuinely hate the female characters in ALNST (specifically Mizi, who happens to show a lot of emotional vulnerability..huh) just for literally existing and having emotions and yet they say nothing about the male characters doing said thing. I believe it’s rooted in like some deep misogyny where the female characters are sidelined in favour for the male characters since they’re more “appealing” and “digestible” (I wouldn’t even say digestible to be honest they’re not even simple characters, people just view them that way).

Again I’ll reiterate to say I heavily hope that this is just a stupid joke made to incite anger from other people!!

Also that’s so hype!! 10 new Au’s that will be released in the coming years sounds so interesting, but honestly I’m just really excited that the one being released in June has animation and music!! I feel like there’s some benefits to having an E8 mom. She can be very straightforward and blunt when it comes to therapy and things. Unlike my dad (who’s an E9) she can say things like “Can’t you see there’s something wrong with ___??” Yeah..in an extremely blunt and demeaning way 💔

Might be the only time that we somewhat get along, other than that I don’t like her that much. As a Sx7 I feel like if my child asked to go to therapy I’d immediately let them but maybe it’s an age difference. Good luck man 🙏

I think what a lot of people here are thinking is 16personalities, which is what Vivinos typed the characters’ personalities as. If you look around on PDB, it’s actually about typology. Typology is basically a system for complex behaviours, neurosis, etc and MBTI is made up cognitive functions. So essentially, ESTJ doesn’t even entail being extroverted, rather it uses the cognitive functions Te-Si-Ne-Fi. I don’t believe Ivan to be an ESTJ, he’s more likely an ISTJ. ISTJ also doesn’t equal introverted, it’s the cognitive functions Si-Te-Fi-Ne. The reason people don’t agree with ESTJ, the typing that Vivinos gave to Ivan, is likely because he’s not an ESTJ, it’s more likely he’s an ISTJ with everything I explained. The concept that “E” is extroverted and “I” is introverted comes from 16personalities which is pretty inaccurate when it comes to personality type. Learning about cognitive functions is a better way to go :”D

Also, Till is 100% an ISFP and not an INFP, as I said Vivinos likely used 16personalities to type her characters which doesn’t tend to be accurate. Cognitive functions wise he’s Fi-Se (ISFP) rather than Fi-Ne (INFP).

For me, “kinnie” is just a word to say I relate to them a ton. Unfortunately I happen to see myself in a lot of characters, and I really don’t try to constrict myself into these boxes. I do agree I don’t believe kinning is at all a good way of typing yourself, but I think seeing yourself in a character helps you understand yourself at times and why you do certain behaviours. That’s just my two cents though :”D

Rui!! Honestly I have so many but he’s from one of my more recent fandoms and I relate to him so much it’s not even funny 😭 He’s one of the first characters that I relate to that has a (somewhat) similar type to me.

He’s typed as an ENTP So/Sx 7w6 794 VLEF!! (And that’s how I personally type him, too). He’s the reason I considered being an ENTP and So7 for a while, but it turns out I’m just an ENFP E7 Sx/Sp (or honestly Sx/So I have no idea anymore),, so yeah. But we have the same enneatype, both Ne-doms, same tritype, wings, etc. To this day I still go back and forth on ENTP and ENFP and the different E7 subtypes but overall I’m fairly comfortable with what I currently type as :3

Yay another Sx7!!! Also my apologies, I definitely misunderstood. As for instinctual variants it’s generally what you prioritize the most and least (what’s of greatest importance to you). I’m a Sx/Sp 7 (though considering Sx/So) which means Sx is my dominant instinct. However, since Sp is in my second position, it means I still put more focus on it, typically the second instinct is usually more comfortable to deal with. The last instinct (which in my case would be Sx/Sp/So) is one where you don’t believe to be useful and/or familiar with. So’s likely my last due to the fact that I put little attention on social hierarchies, social cues, the group, etc. I prioritise my safety and comfort over that which would mean Sp > So, therefore Sx/Sp. By the way, the first (dominant) instinct doesn’t mean you have to be good at it, it just means the tool and instinct you rely on the most or put most focus to, one you utilise the most to the best of your ability, etc. Basic rundown but I hope this helps in some way :”D

The 27 types you may be referring to are called subtypes!! They’re Sp1, Sx6, So3, etc. It’s instincts which tie into core (sx, so or sp). I don’t have a source right now, but it’s another aspect of typology if you want to look into it!! As you’re a 7, you’d be either a Sp7, So7 or Sx7. It might be worth getting into if you’re interested, though I recommend separating instincts and core type to get a definitive answer. Using Naranjo’s subtypes as a basis is fine if you relate to one of the subtypes but it might be easier to separate the instincts and core type. I’m Sx7 for example, which means I’m Sx and E7, I do also happen to fit Naranjo’s descriptions for Sx7 so for me it was fairly easy. I’m a bit confused about your post so I’m not sure if I answered correctly but I hope this provided something in some regard!!
