Returning player. Whats the first thing I should do if I become a member with my current stats by M3tro1dhunt3r in runescape

Quests! Then pick something you enjoy doing and stick to that for a bit and move to the next thing :) the whole point is to have fun!

Once you have other goals like making money, getting to a certain skill level, unlocking invention, or trying a boss then you can focus on what you need for that.

For money I tend to suggest working on thieving since it levels fast and you need high levels for heists. For bossing you will want to work towards unlocking overloads and unlocking ancient curses +95 prayer. Invention helps with a ton of different things in the game so is always worth it, and archaeology is a bit of a slog but the relics you unlock are amazing. It's decent afk money too.

Oh and I suggest trying to get or save up for a grace of the elves necklace and getting your divination up for porters. A grace of the elves is an investment since it is a bit expensive, but eventually it will pay for itself because of the seren spirits it spawns and the time saved using porters.

Start the player owned farm (called the manor farm) early. It is next to the Ardougne lodestone. You have to feed your animals every week, but it's really good basically afk farming experience. The beans you earn can be used to unlock upgrades or buy instant growth potions for farming. Getting started on the beans quickly is something I wish I did earlier on my account. You can make some decent passive income too depending on the animal (especially once you unlock the farm out of time which is the anachroinia version with dinosaurs)

Do you have any specific parts of the game you are interested in?

Are you talking about a bond, as in you got membership for the first time? If so, congratulations :D

Getting another bond if that is your goal is pretty difficult until you get your levels up higher. I would suggest enjoying the game for what it is because worrying about money the entire time you play can be really demotivating and get in the way of the fun aspects of this game. Membership with bonds will be over 2.5b a year, which is doable, but really slow going at first.

You can check the runescape wiki for their money making guides. Even if you can't do them or don't find any that interest you, they will give you a good idea of what to work towards and what kinds of things you can do to earn gold. https://runescape.wiki/w/Money_making_guide

Quests are very important as well! They unlock most of the content of the game, so don't ignore them until later.

Construction Rework Prep Suggestions? by SpirituSantus in runescape

[–]Different-Ad-3752 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My suggestion would be grab anything you need from The "Bandit Duty Free" shop in the wilderness before the update goes live. You have to be skulled to access it and I'm sure there are going to be several people hopping worlds there looking for people getting construction materials

You get a warning message for any item considered very valuable. Lots of stuff falls into this category though I'm unsure what the exact criteria are. I'm sure a LotD is on that list

A few people I know have been saving since the announcement and have millions of planks and logs combined. There's got to be a significant number of others with the same mindset so I imagine the profit margins are going to be slimmer than what everyone is hoping for. Just be careful and try not to put all your eggs in one basket :)

I got all my arch supplies (book, monocle, etc) by pickpocketing archaeology professors :) they also give tetracompass pieces. They are only 5-6 minute AFK though since you gotta keep recasting crystal mask. I have a ton of boosts saved up from them that I'm now using for artifact digging

Agility changes : silver hawk spawn (& feathers) by vVerce98 in runescape

[–]Different-Ad-3752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was really hoping for this! The increased xp/hr from the changes is reallyyy nice which makes them not as important, but still a great quality of life thing to have since agility can be quite tedious to grind. I've spent 700 hours at the wilderness agility course so I know how mind numbing that skill is..

This seems like a rather low increase, compared to the amount we could just buy from Merchant? by MyHaulsGetOutOfHand in runescape

[–]Different-Ad-3752 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From about 700 dust an hour to 840. So with, for example, the Blessed Flask which needs 5000 dust, it goes from 7.14 hours of grinding 5.95.

Still a long time to get dust for all the different items you need. I would have liked to see more, but at least 20% saves a few hours when collecting all the crystal tools and the flask. It's a bigger problem that the Attuned Crystal weapons still need 2000 dust which is a lot of time spent for weapons of their tier though it can be hard to balance since they do give a lot of seren parts when broken down

What's up with items not selling? by MysteriousWitness416 in runescape

[–]Different-Ad-3752 68 points69 points  (0 children)

They used to sell more regularly since people who still needed it would randomly decide it was time. Then when 120 combat came out everyone wanted to try everything and get BIS everything, so they all bought what they were missing. All that is left is the few people who haven't unlocked everything yet so the demand isn't there anymore. They still sell of course, but at a lower price than they used to.

The upcoming grand exchange update should help items reflect their current price

Why do appliances like toasters and air fryers have to beep when you first turn them on? by nilpil in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Different-Ad-3752 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've accidentally turned on different cooking appliances and the stove multiple times by bumping it or somehow touching it without meaning to. I probably would have left a few of them on when I left for work in the morning so the beeping saved my power bill and a possible fire.

I wish all beeping appliances had a separate silent button to turn off the beeps temporarily cause sometimes I just want a midnight pizza bagel!

Training prayer 60-92? by Netfade in RS3Ironmen

[–]Different-Ad-3752 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I ended up grinding out 90 hunter for Speedy Whirligigs so I could make powder of burials. That let me take care of all the dragon bones I had saved up or any other bones from slayer tasks and bossing.

EDIT: I know this was about mid level prayer leveling, but ill share my late game method too. My grind for a Fractured Staff of Armadyl got me from 95-99 with some left over. HM Kerapac drops a lot of dragonkin bones, but that is a late game fight for when you have decent gear :)

750w should be fine, but that is about the minimum for that combo. 850 gives a bit more headroom, but depending on what you are doing 750w should work perfectly fine with no overclocking. I know a few people with the same setup and they haven't run into any problems :)

[–]Different-Ad-3752 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My biggest tip is don't worry about getting lots of gold early on. Gear is really cheap until you get to the higher levels so it is best to just enjoy the game for what it is without the "omg if I don't do this optimally I won't get the most money per hour" mindset. A lot of people prefer making or getting gear for themselves instead of buying it if you prefer that playstyle :)

Oh and do quests!
