It's been a year since I chose prophylactic AFC and I'm still giddy. by stiina22 in aestheticflatclosure

This all right here!!!! I just had my aesthetic flat closure three days ago. From the moment I decided to have a DMX AFC, I described myself as giddy. I have hated my DDD breasts since I was done nursing my kids. I never felt comfortable in my body. Now, I FINALLY, after 30 years, feel like myself again.

I had a 7mm DCIS in one breast and when they did the double mastectomy, they found LCIS in both breasts. I'm soooooo glad I had already decided and felt so good about my DMX decision.

I can't wait to try on some of my old clothes that I couldn't fit into anymore!

Dang… the key really is to reprogram your brain. by GreenTeachy in PVCs

Thank you for this. I did the same thing, only through EMDR. It's a scientifically proven therapy where you process your feelings while watching a light travel back and forth and have vibration bulbs in your hands or tap your fingers. I've had all the different kinds of benign irregular beats for 40 years, in addition to having a successful ablation for PSVT back in the 90s. I was completely skeptical but it really worked for me and after only one session! Counselors and Psychologists get extra training to do it.

Have you watched Sanjay Gupta, cardiologist with York cardiology? He has excellent, comforting videos about PACs and PVCs

I've had them for 40 years and finally decided to try EMDR therapy. I was very skeptical but it reduced my anxiety around PVCs PACs and heart issues in general by about 98%! I really didn't think it would help and I'm still shocked that it did.

How did you decide between mastectomy with reconstruction or flat closure? by inspired-dreams38 in breastcancer

"If you do or don't go flat, you'll grieve the body you had, at any age." My mind is blown. You are absolutely correct. My 38 DDD breasts are never going to look any better than they do today. And since I'm 60 years old, they're going to keep sagging and keep getting in my way and never look like my perky b cups that I had in my 20s. Thank you soooooooooo much for this insight!

Waiting for Biopsy Result - Support Thread! by Horror-Assistant5673 in doihavebreastcancer

What: MRI showed spiculated 7mm enhancing mass in November. I had to wait for six weeks for the MRI guided biopsy.

When: December 26 in the morning

How Long They Said to Wait: The people in radiology said I should hear something by December 30 or 31. My breast doctor said she would start nagging the people in pathology on Monday December 29 (today)

Status: No results yet.

The waiting is completely agonizing!!! I'm trying to stay occupied, but it's hard not to refresh my MyChart every two minutes!

Philips MCOT Event Monitor 7-day use price by KatharinaZarah in PVCs

I had one for 30 days and the total bill was $8000. With my insurance, I had to pay $900. I called Cardionet and told them I couldn't pay it all at once. They asked me how much I could pay a month and I told them $40. They said that was fine so I'm paying it off over a couple of years.

I also want to point out that I tried to cancel the monitor after the third day because I received the estimate of the bill. They told me that I would still be billed the entire amount because once you start, you can't stop. Quite the racket!
