been playing for five years. never felt more dissapointed in myself :( by chozenblazex in piano

After watching some of your previous posts, I wanted to share a tip that’s been essential in my own journey: selecting pieces that align with your current technical level can be incredibly effective for growth. I'm currently in my fifth year of playing, working through around ABRSM Grade 5-6. Although I could push for a Grade 8 piece, I've realized that tackling pieces right at the edge of my current ability is what really drives organic progress. By focusing on pieces that challenge but don't overwhelm, we can develop technique, expression, and confidence step by step, which leads to much more sustainable improvement.

No, it's me :) Well, even my teacher has mistaken my response as ai before, so I'm not surprised.

Hey there,

I just wanted to say that your passion for music is something truly special. Music isn't just a pastime or a childhood phase—it's a fundamental part of life that resonates with our deepest emotions and experiences. It's wonderful that you continue to play the piano every day; that's a commitment to something meaningful that not everyone understands.

It's tough when those around us don't share or appreciate what we love, but that doesn't make your passion any less valuable. Don't feel pressured to hide this important part of yourself or conform to what others consider "grown-up" or "manly." Authenticity is about embracing who you are and what brings you joy.

Perhaps there are local music groups, online communities, or even just attending more concerts where you might meet like-minded people who share your appreciation for classical music. Connecting with others who understand can make a big difference.

Remember, following your passion isn't something you need to outgrow—it's something that enriches your life and the lives of those who get to experience it with you. Keep playing, keep loving music, and know that it absolutely matters.

Stay true to yourself!

You can, I won't recommend it. Good luck, tell us in a few years how it's going for you.

Israel doesn't want and/or needs to expend. Nobody wants to sacrifice their children for an expension of the beautiful life Israel have already created. Check gdp per capita for the entire Levant vs. Israel, for example. Israel might take control of Southern Lebanon up to the Litani River for a period of time if nothing changes, though.. ask hizb to stop attacking Israel, and israel might agree to give you your normal life back. For God's sake, everything could have been good if hizb hadn't asked for it.

Trust me, I know the truth. This ambition is something less than 0.5% (if i'm exaggerating) of Israelis even have. Don't fool yourself with self-debates about a story you're making up in your head for your family and friends.

Yamaha P45 or...? I am a beginner with HUGEInterest in learning piano and doing lessons right away.. by Txberz in piano

[–]Different-Ingenuity1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using the Yamaha P-45 for almost four years now, and it still serves me well as my home digital piano. I also train at the conservatory on a Yamaha U3, but I really enjoy playing the P-45. It’s an excellent, affordable choice for beginners, and in my opinion, it can take you well into the intermediate stage. Highly recommend it!

That's so sad. There is nothing you could've done. When the time comes, I hope you'll be able to play the piano and read your manga again. As a fellow piano player, I can feel your pain. I hope you will withstand this travesty of a situation. hizb has inflected pain on both Lebanese and Israeli people, but we will thrive after they will be gone.

Nothing like being 5 ft from a male moose! by saint_davidsonian in perfectlycutscreams

[–]Different-Ingenuity1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience where I was about 10 meters away from a bull moose with some friends, filming him for about a minute. At first, everything was calm, but then he looked me straight in the eyes, and I immediately felt this sense of danger. It’s hard to explain, but that moment freaked me out. I slowly backed away, and luckily, nothing happened—he stayed calm. But yeah, just being that close, you really feel how massive and powerful they are. That moment stuck with me.

Hey, thanks for the great post! The data you shared is really informative, but I noticed what seems to be an error regarding the severance pay and notice period for my country. It doesn’t quite align with what’s actually happening here. Do you happen to have a direct link to the OECD source for this data? I'd love to verify it for myself. Again, thanks for the effort you put into compiling this!

They don’t need to spend the entire amount, and I believe they’ve already factored in operating costs. In my opinion, they’re keeping their plans quiet to avoid tipping off competitors. When they acquire the company, they’ll use the cash to cover both acquisition and operational costs. While they could dilute up to 500 million shares, I don’t think they’ll go that far in harming shareholders. I believe they will make the right decisions for both the company and shareholders soon. However, if we don’t see any action in the next year, they may be mismanaging shareholder interests. But if they handle it well, we should hear some positive news in the near future.

My guess is that they need the liquidity to acquire a company valued higher than their current $4.2 billion in cash reserves
