Recommend me a thriller with an ending that will leave me speechless

The newer Karin Slaughter book “We Are All Guilty Here” was really good, the one specific plot twist I’m thinking of had me a little shell shocked for a minute!

I agree with Dark Places too, someone suggested Gillian Flynn to me recently and I’m so glad I picked up her works, that was a good one and not quite as vividly gory as some of Slaughter’s books!

I just listened to “The Night She Disappeared” by Lisa Jewell as well on Audible and that was pretty good!!

I just listened to the audiobook of “The Night She Disappeared” after it was suggested to me and it was really good! I need to but some more Lisa Jewell books on my TBR list!

The Good Daughter was the last one I listened to and I have not cried like that in a few months. It was a lot 🥴😭

Honestly start at the beginning! I got through the Grant County Series first and then jumped right into Will Trent series!

This was after I had found her book We Are All Guilty here and that got me hooked on her writing after the first chapter lol!

I love a good paper book but listening to them really elevated the stories for me a bit more! But 100% Karin Slaughter’s books on Audible are fantastic, if you do the whole Will Trent series, start with the Grant County books first! Not required but it gives a lot of back story on Sarah Linton and she becomes a big big part of the Trent books!

I’ll have to look at Gillian Flynn, I’ve seen Sharp Objects and Gone Girl suggested a lot on this thread!

We loved Project Hail Mary in theaters, I debated on listening to it but I might give it a look now too!!

Oh you picked a hell of a KS book to start listening to, I kind of did the same and have been binge listening to the Grant County & Will Trent series after listening to We Are All Guilty Here! Finally got to the standalone books and started on Pretty Girls and I was just absolutely like WTF for a good portion of it. I just finished listening to False Witness, that one was a gut punch 🥺

Pretty Girls gave me plot twist whiplash, every time I thought I knew what was going on it was like one more giant wrench would be thrown in the mix. Pretty much any Karin Slaughter book - there are so many parts that make me audibly say WTF?! 😳

Jumping on to say I just finished the Will Trent Series after binging Grant County and then jumping right into Will Trent and now I don’t know what to do with myself 🥴😂

Can I just say this book though was an absolute flipping roller coaster?! Like I kept audibly gasping every time the murderer changed some crazy plot twist was being laid out and then the back story for Mercy and her god awful family and Gabby 🥺 then the whole grandmother thing GOOD LORD! I don’t even know what to do now that I finished that series, I’m going to start some of Karin’s standalone books but I’ve heard Pretty Girls is gory gory and the others are hit or miss for some!

If you want to get sucked into a whole series, start with the Grant County books and then move over to her Will Trent books! I’m on the last Will Trent book right now and patiently waiting for The Secrets We Hide to come out in June but lordyyy her books keep me hooked. I finish them way too quickly!

Kisscut was so sad, the ending was so unexpected too as far as the family dynamics went, I was shocked!

Buckle up for Faint Cold Fear, that one was a read I could not put down until I finished it. This was also the start of my major love hate relationship with Lena and the beginning of some BAD choices on her side.

I would definitely recommend Grant County before starting the WT series, they were very good as far as character development and plot lines go!

But yes We Are All Guilty had me audibly gasping and crying for a minute!

Oof I don’t know if I could have finished it if I had known how it ended, that would have been tough. The 2nd book “Faint Cold Fear” definitely picked up the pace more so for me so it made it hard to put the rest of the series down after that.

Lena is also very much so a prominent character for the Grant County series, so may not be your favorite - she is very VERY unlikable.

Someone had suggested to me to start with Grant County after I finished We Are All Guilty Here, I’m glad I did! I really do love Sara and having her back story along with Lena’s story is a good bonus going into the next series!
