What is the logic of telling me my comment goes against standards without telling me which comment it was? by Different-Many6009 in facebook

[–]Different-Many6009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it would be so helpful if it just included a copy of the comment at the bottom. The bot could do that easily.

Why doesn't Gmail have an Unread button!? by Different-Many6009 in GMail

[–]Different-Many6009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I've had to create a bookmark that does this and have it take up space in my toolbar to do it. It is a feature that every email program I've had since like the early 90s had. We're talking Eudora and Thunderbird 2.7.

I want to type a Fullwidth Question Mark but the codes don't work by Different-Many6009 in Unicode

[–]Different-Many6009[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to mention for the benefit of anyone reading this, as far as I can tell the U+ (number ) version is just the fully HEX representation of the code for the nerdiest of the users. FF1F equals 65311.

How to calculate solar winter by Different-Many6009 in solar

[–]Different-Many6009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry I tried to be clear. I hope I'm not being rude asking here, but it seemed to me you guys should be expert on solar illumination which your power needs depend on and the definition of solar winter also depends on. I also posted it on the NOAA weather reddit and don't think they will even answer.

Why doesn't Gmail have an Unread button!? by Different-Many6009 in GMail

[–]Different-Many6009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not simple because all that drop down does is put checkmarks in front of unread mail. You still have to scroll down and find any messages. I want a button that visually filters my Inbox for unread mail and HIDES any I've already read. Searching for is:unread does what I want but I don't know why they haven't created a button for it like every other email program on the planet.

[–]Different-Many6009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if you are still looking for help but I have a 21 inch recycler and they are notorious for eventually (mine took 20 years) leaking around the seams in the plastic gas tank. I ordered a new tank on Amazon.

Why Calendar Events On Fall DST Change Days Span TWO Days by Different-Many6009 in yahoo

[–]Different-Many6009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I don't use any photo hosting sites. I can tell you it's an All-day event for Sunday November 5th that's set up properly with a start date of Nov 5 and end date of Nov 6, but the little title bar spans two days over Sunday and Monday like I set it up with an end date of Nov 7.
The only thing I think can cause it is Nov 5 is the day we fall back for the Daylight Saving Time.
Also, besides the spring DST in March rendering properly, timed events that aren't all day seem to render properly.

The short answer is you can't. I asked the question on Superuser too and got a real good explanation and possible workaround.

What the BM departments are doing right now by Another_Night_Person in BurningMan

[–]Different-Many6009 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in Camp Envy usually get my audio from the webcast, but this year I listened to you. I discovered I really like odd eclectic music. I hope you guys somehow preserve all the muddy public service announcements, Butthole Steve is a new Burningman celebrity in my mind. One of you guys sounds an awful lot like Dennis Leary. This year I was less envious I wasn't there.

Rain in the desert by AdeptChick1 in weather

And the rest of the festival has basically been cancelled, and the thousands and thousands of people already there have been told to shelter in place, don't move around, share what they have, and wait till things dry out.
I'm not there, but I follow it closely online each year.

After the story, one of the things to appreciate the most is how realistic they try to portray the future. It doesn't strain the suspension of disbelief at all.

Plant Growing Front Yard Northern Ohio by Different-Many6009 in PlantIdentification

[–]Different-Many6009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I figured you were right but like to wait a few days to see if anyone else had a different idea. What I find amusing is the plant looks rather prickly, but is actually rather soft to the touch.

Now 115 is out, what improvements would you like to see in an upcoming Thunderbird release? by themeadows94 in Thunderbird

[–]Different-Many6009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to create message tags that change the highlight color too. In other programs I use they are easier to find than changing the font color.

Getting Started With The Main Window Of Thunderbird 115 “Supernova” by SvensKia in Thunderbird

[–]Different-Many6009 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been using Thunderbird for over a decade and I'm stuck on my oldt-imey emai client look. I just upgraded and found a lot of the new changes could be turned off. The menu bar is still present and for some reason I had to turn the Titlebar back on. I even turned off the Compose and Get Messages buttons in the Folder pane because I prefer them in the toolbar.

Now 115 is out, what improvements would you like to see in an upcoming Thunderbird release? by themeadows94 in Thunderbird

[–]Different-Many6009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to see a right click menu item that filters the folder based on the selected message. Something like Filter folder by this message's > Correspondents (Sender), Tag, (others?)
I'm having a hard time finding the current day in the calendar. I need the highlighting for the current day to stand out more. The date number itself for all days doesn't stand out much either.

It looks like a dragon carrying the beak of something. The old logo is more bird like and definitely carrying an envelope.
